Normal people don't really thing Trump sat down and hatched out a RICO. But the truth is: "That could turn up names of people at the president’s family-run real estate company and other entities." So it's a fishing expedition, and exactly what the founding f's did not want the opposition party to do to presidents in order to burn time and energy as a political tactic. I seriously doubt they will get to talk to Trump until after 2024 unless he volunteers to.

I can see why Amazon decided on a smaller foot print in New York. In case the political breeze should point to them at some point, Bezo's doesn't want to catch a billion dollar cold. That is the downside to political prosecutions.

Everybody has a right to have a lawyer present so it is about logistics. I did read an article once about a sketchy law firm and a sketchier coal company client refusing to agree to any dates for depositions in some black lung cases so a judge subpoenaed them all to court and took over the whole deposition process so their only choices were show up when he ordered them to show up or sit in jail

a new york federal judge can order Don to sit for a deposition all day long....good luck getting him to actually be able to enforce it

this case will probably be delayed until AFTER the election, and then gag orders will undoubtedly be issued with with any testimony as a condition from Trump and his attorneys

It is the Washington Post - which is known for a HEAVY bias - and it's reputation is getting worse than either of the sources you mention.

There are a host of non-paywalled sites that could be used. It's hard to read and comment on something hidden behind a paywall.
 

Since access to The Washington Post website DOES NOT COST a dime, your referring to it as having a "paywall" is ingenuous (at best) and downright deliberately dishonest (at worst).

He'll refuse deposition via first accepting, then not showing, etc. until compelled by courts, then not showing, etc. until forcefully taken by the marshal, if federal.

That doesn't sound like it is unlikely.

One does have to remember the old lawyer's adage "If we can delay this case until after you have died, then you can't be convicted and the people to whom you left the money you had left from robbing all those banks won't have to pay it back either.".

PS - I made up the "...and the people to whom you left the money you had left from robbing all those banks won't have to pay it back either..." bit.

PPS - Mostly because, after the payment of the lawyer's bills there won't be any money left and you would have every lawyer in the country volunteering their services to defend any lawyer who was being threatened with having their fees "RICO'd" simply because a criminal had used the loot from their crimes to pay them.

I don't know what you are doing differently. Perhaps you subscribed somehow. There's no question they have a paywall - it's been a frequent topic here. It's also no question they show an extreme bias in their reporting either, which casts a shadow over anything they have to say. I would discard them and look to more reputable sources for information.
