In a Truth Social post announcing her nomination, Trump lauded Halligan as a "tough, smart, and loyal attorney" who has been in his legal orbit for years.

Trump says he is appointing Lindsey Halligan, one of his former attorneys, to lead key prosecutor's office

President Donald Trump says he intends to nominate one of his former defense attorneys, Lindsey Halligan, to lead a key federal prosecutor's office in Virginia.

...Halligan, who does not have any prosecutorial experience, is licensed to practice law in Florida and handled insurance claims when she joined Trump's legal team amid the probe by the Justice Department into Trump's handling of classified material after leaving office following his first term.

More recently, from her post in the White House, Halligan was tasked by Trump with an effort to root out what the administration calls radical ideology at the Smithsonian Institution museums.

"Lindsey is a tough, smart, and loyal attorney, who has worked with me for a long time, including in the winning fight against the Weaponization of our Justice System by Crooked Joe Biden and the Radical Left Democrats, which she witnessed firsthand when she stood up for my rights during the Unconstitutional and UnAmerican raid on my home, Mar-a-Lago, in Palm Beach, Florida," Trump said in another social media post about her appointment.

Trump's announcement that he was appointing Halligan to the position came shortly after a previous post in which he appeared to criticize U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi over the pace of investigations into his political opponents, including the investigation of James over an allegation of mortgage fraud....

AND Halligan has another qualification: long blonde hair

I think the Kennedy hearings and Patel hearings put it in their face what they had done in approving them. Then this FCC thing and Trump firing the prosecutor who she is replacing . Just enough of them to kill the appointment. I bet at least 5 say no. Mind you Lord knows when she will even be brought forward.
 
It doesnt matter if she is competent or not.

Her job is to harass Trump's perceived enemies. Nothing more, nothing less.

I don't think any of this means they will say No. They can use their tough questions for their constituents ads if they need it but they will not cross Trump when it comes to voting.

The only exception is that they may vote No sometimes for show as they've done in the past but it's done ONLY IF they know their vote will not actually overturn what Trump wants. These will not be the McCain no's.

My comments were in relation to how some GOP Senators may react to these authoritarian moves. As far as the general population...go figure
