It should be instructive.

By 2019 the border situation had significantly improved from 2017, despite massive numbers waiting on the Mexican side. The administration had sorted the law and revised procedures to create a toolbox of methods to deal with most situations. The Biden administration ended many of them on inauguration day, offending Mexico among other significant issues.

The toolbox of procedures is still available, though some will need modification. Tom Homan was instrumental in developing the methods during Trump's first term, so I anticipate few problems on that score.

We will see whose hyperbole is most correct.
 
This is an expected pick IMO. Good for Homan. I think he likely very much wanted the job, and it just makes sense.

Stefanik was also given a spot - United Nations. Haley's previous position in 45's administration.

Impossible for anyone to remember that since it was never her duty to be Border Czar.

But she did successfully undertake the task President Biden did give her in regards illegal immigration.

Not that I would ever expect you to know anything about that.

Oh like when Trump tasked Pence to be the Covid "Czar", do you remember that?

Sure Kamala shirked her duties but let's not rewrite history that when Trump was actually POTUS people also didn't conduct the tasks he gave them.
 
This is going to be a long 4 years...

But this was an expected pick, and for those looking at mass deportations odds are to some degree it will happen. My hope is that Tom Homan focuses on gang and cartel members, those here convicted of various crimes, etc. I would not mind seeing a significant effort to find those who are here intending to eventually go harm someone, if they have not already.

However, if this is just a massive round up of anyone here illegally expect the economy to take one hell of a hit.

Because it wasn't necessary.

The numbers, at that time, were much lower. And, because he was busy putting infrastructure and policy in place to reduce the number of illegal aliens at the time.

But now...after the Biden pukes have let MILLIONS of illegal aliens invade our country...getting them out isn't just necessary, it's imperative.

He was a big proponent of family separation. I don't expect a nuanced deportation process from him.

I don't think Kamala shirked her duties on the border. She did what the democrats wanted, namely open borders and she was never earmarked to stop the flow of immigration into the USA but increase it, making it more fluid, faster and hiding it from the American people.
