Trump minimizes severity of head injuries in Iran attacks
“I heard they had headaches and a couple of other things ... and I can report it is not very serious,” Trump said at a press conference in Davos, Switzerland. He said that potential traumatic brain injuries are less severe than, say, missing limbs.
“No, I don’t consider them very serious injuries relative to other injuries that I’ve seen,” the president said, and described meeting previously with U.S. troops wounded by roadside bombs. “I’ve seen people with no legs and with no arms. I’ve seen people that were horribly, horribly injured in that area, that war.”
“No, I do not consider that to be bad injuries, no,” he added."
At some point our military members have to realize he's a massive liar with no honor and integrity, right? Right?
One of the largest (if not the largest) military advocacy groups in America is paying attention.
“Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) said Trump "minimized" the injuries the troops suffered after the Pentagon announced that dozens of U.S. troops suffered traumatic brain injuries (TBI). Trump had referred to the injuries as "headaches" and "not very serious" earlier in the week.
"In light of today's announcement from the defense department that 34 U.S. service members suffered traumatic brain injuries as a result of Iran's retaliatory strike and President Trump's remarks which minimized these troops' injuries, the Veterans of Foreign Wars cannot stand idle on this matter," VFW National Commander William "Doc" Schmitz said in a statement.
"TBI is a serious injury and one that cannot be taken lightly. TBI is known to cause depression, memory loss, severe headaches, dizziness and fatigue - all injuries that come with both short- and long-term effects. The VFW expects an apology from the president to our service men and women for his misguided remarks."

Trump doesn’t give a single **** about our service members. Never has.
Trump is not a liar in this case, but does display a lack of compassion. Trump's warped sense of values causes him to consider only troops with easily visible injuries (e.g. missing limbs) to be counted as casualties while those with less visible injuries (e.g. traumatic brain/nervous system injuries) can be safely downplayed - since they "look" (as if he had ever bothered to actually see these folks) less serious to him despite those being so afflicted also being casualties removed from duty for medical treatment.

He had a couple of options IMO. He could have told the truth and then started a war which it seems you are looking forward to. The other option is lie or shade the truth depending on partisan viewpoint and say what he said.
Why are never trumpers now demanding war with both Russia and Iran.
Why do Trumpsters try, disingenuously, to explain away what, by any standard of of honesty and decency, is simply wrong behavior? He had a couple of options IMO. "“We suffered no casualties, all of our soldiers are safe, and only minimal damage was sustained at our military bases.”"

Reality: 34 injured. It's lying by omission. By saying no casualties + minimal damage, but deliberately not mentioning injuries, he's presenting a false picture. Presented, rather.
Pentagon says 34 US troops injured in Iran attack. Trump first said “no casualties.” - Vox
