I'm pretty sure any literate human has more knowledge about every subject than the president of the united states. that's what happens when you elect a stupid, anti-knowledge moron.
But rather than enshrine the ability of Americans with health problems to buy insurance, the Trump administration has, at every turn, pursued policies that have tended to do the opposite.
Some of the efforts to weaken protections have been successful — like an expansion of cheap, lightly regulated health plans that insurers are not required to offer when customers are sick. Others, like multiple attempts to “repeal and replace Obamacare” in 2017, failed to attract enough Republican votes in Congress to pass. The Justice Department’s quest to overturn the Affordable Care Act, while no replacement is being offered, is still underway, with oral arguments scheduled at the Supreme Court in November.
Before Obamacare, Americans with a history of both serious and trivial diseases had trouble buying health insurance. Health plans could omit coverage for addiction, could charge customers higher prices because of a history of acne, or could simply decline to sell insurance altogether to someone who’d had a cancer diagnosis. All of those practices were eliminated as part of Obamacare, which requires insurance companies to offer the same, comprehensive health plans to everyone in a geographic area, varying the prices based only on the customer’s age.
Recent reports that the president will release an executive order to protect pre-existing conditions are puzzling, since such protections are already the law. If Obamacare were overturned, such an order would be toothless. Major new regulations of the health insurance industry would require legislation, which is why the Trump administration pursued Obamacare replacement in Congress in the first place.
A good reminder from the NY Times today that Trump lied right to that woman's face at the town hall:
Trump Says He Will ‘Always’ Protect Those With Pre-Existing Conditions. He Hasn’t.
He's spent more than three years chipping away at pre-existing condition protections and remains in court trying to get them thrown out entirely. With no replacement in sight.
You don't seem to understand reality, healthcare is a personal responsibility issue best handled at the state and local level. You sold that program to the people of your state so why is it so important for you to have a national program? You seem to continue to be anti Trump not explaining why you would support Biden as single issue voters like you have no understanding of the consequences you would generate by a Harris/Biden Administration. Healthcare issues are best handled at the state level
Odd how you avoid the main point... that Trump and the GOP are lying their asses off.
Oh, wait.
I just saw who I’m responding to.
Par for the course. Surprised you didn’t mention U-6.
Affordable healthcare is a national need. If Congress decides that it is a federal responsibility, it is a federal responsibility. Dealing with pandemics are also a federal responsibility -- and also a presidential responsibility. That's why when we had President Obama, a man who took his job seriously, his H1N1 response limited deaths to 12,000 while Trump's non-response has 200,000 deaths and counting. So, yeah, Trump deserves blame not local officials.Right, and like most liberals today you believe healthcare is a federal responsibility ignoring reality. Your state has the authority to fix the problem, keep blaming the President for your local failures. The police have stopped doing that and are endorsing Trump biting the hand that feeds them
Without a national healthcare plan how many more millions of Americans would be without healthcare? Costs would skyrocket. Kids would not be allowed to stay on their parent's plan to age 26.Right, and like most liberals today you believe healthcare is a federal responsibility ignoring reality. National healthcare exists in European utopia countries and their Covid 19 results are much worse than ours. You buy rhetoric and ignore results. You obviously living in NY have no idea what the role of the state is but you better find out because people are fleeing your state. Yours remains a anti Trump vote as you cannot give a valid reason to vote for Biden unless you want incremental socialism. Explain why taxpayers are fleeing your city and state?Without a national healthcare plan how many more millions of Americans would be without healthcare? Costs would skyrocket. You 100% do not understand how insurance works. The healthy people balance out the pool for those who are sick keeping everyone's costs down. You, as you always seem to do only care about yourself and have no empathy for the millions and millions of people who cannot afford healthcare with the ACA. You and Trump are two of a kind.
Continue to promote national healthcare for your own personal gain and no one else's. Can you explain why our healthcare results are better than those liberal utopian countries you want us to be like with our 2.9% death to infection rate? Long wait times and no incentive for doctors permeates throughout those utopian countries
Because the Affordable Care Act is good! Lauding its results while trying to reverse them is peak wingnut nihilism.
As always, you use stats that are not the true measuring stick. Deaths per capita are THE way to measure Covid. Take a look:National healthcare exists in European utopia countries and their Covid 19 results are much worse than ours. You buy rhetoric and ignore results. Talk about U-6 again.
I think that’s #202 on your canned response list.
The above was # 154.

Right people living in that liberal bubble don't really care about under employed people who wanted a full time job but couldn't find one in that booming Obama economy but are counted as employed in the official numbers. The U-6 is a better indicator of economic policies and success
Close.
That was canned response #212
Got it doesn't really matter what kind of job a person gets as long as it is a job that registers on the official unemployment rate posting nor does the reality that healthcare is a personal responsibility best handled by the states. Liberal posters like you have no credibility
Wonderful for who, YOU? Such a wonderful economy cost him the House in 10-12-14 and Democrats the WH and Congress in 16, That wonderful economy got Obama 4 million fewer votes in 12 than in 08 the only President in history to get fewer votes for re-election than the original election, just a number of records Obama set none positive but that doesn't resonate with bubble liberalsAh, I think that’s #186.
What’s #1, anyway? I think it’s about Obamas disasterous economy that magically became the most wonderful economy in the world in the matter of a month or so.

Trump to sign executive orders protecting preexisting conditions and seeking a way to prevent surprise medical bills
Trump is expected to discuss the executive orders, which are part of his "America First" health-care plan, during his visit to Charlotte, North Carolina later Thursday.www.cnbc.com
Just an atrocious series of lies from Trump last night about pre-existing condition protections, right to the face of a voter with a serious health condition.
He claims the Dems, who banned pre-existing conditions and have fended off ten years of GOP efforts to reinstate them, will bring them back (they won't), he claims he will protect people with pre-existing conditions (he's in court right now trying to bring pre-existing conditions back), he claims he has a plan "all ready" (he doesn't), he claims Obamacare was a disaster (it isn't), he claims he essentially repealed Obamacare (he didn't), he claims he's running Obamacare well (he's not), and he claims junk insurance is better than insurance that has protections for people with pre-existing conditions (it's not, and indeed threatens the latter).
The blank look on Trump's face as Stephanopoulos reels off the things in the ACA Trump is trying to strike down in the courts says it all.
Trump's ABC town hall: President faces tough questions on coronavirus response, health care, racial injustice
Disgusting.

I asked you this question several times in another thread but I guess I'm an optimist. I'll try one more time:Sorry, what’s the conspiracy theory here?
Did Stephanopolous not lie and tell Trump he wanted to get rid of pre-existing conditions?
On video?
And sneak in a lie about Trump calling soldiers losers and suckers?
