Trump is running on concentrating even more power of the government into the oval office.

He is running on being able to fire large swaths of government employees, defunding and funding what he wants no matter what Congress says, and bringing independent agencies like the FCC under direct Presidential authority.

For me, I think that too much power already resides in the Executive and concentrating that power even more is dangerous for the health of the Republic.

I can only imagine the response of Biden was proposing policies like this.

I thought they want smaller government. What he's actually saying is he'll replace the office of president with a dictatorship.

Perhaps you aren't aware of this...

The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America.

Exactly! A president, not a mobster style criminal.

Dems have a good shot at taking back the house in '24.
Doesn’t matter. There needs to be a supermajority to do anything about stopping the concentration of executive power.

Presidential powers need to be reduced, not increased.
Congress needs to get off their political elite dead asses and do their job, which would include not deferring as much as they do to the White House.

As with everything they say and so called "stand for", that smaller government and state's rights the conservatives have been droning about for the last 4 decades is nothing but a huge lie.

I don't believe anything any conservative or republican says without honest and factual proof.

Anyone can say anything. Words are just air.

It's actions that the person takes that tells the truth.

The super majority is required by those who want to increase presidential power.

Sure the house can pass all the bills they want. They are no more law than wallpaper.

The bill has to get through the senate. Where the filibuster will stop most the republican power grabs.

The republicans will need 60 votes in the Senate to pass anything.

He can do presidential EOs. The only way to stop a presidential EO is a court ruling.

Even someone as stupid as Trump can learn from his "mistakes".

If Trump somehow becomes President again, then he will fill every single leadership position in the Federal government with some unqualified MAGA goober dipshit who will never question his authority.

Trump learned this lesson too late the first time, he won't make the same mistake again. And this will be the end of U.S. democracy if that happens. Forgot anymore legitimate elections in the future.

Trump would do this without Congress.

And if congress doesn’t stop him the. It becomes the new norm.

So you want Trump to have more power?

I guess 3 branches of government should be consolidated to one?

Maybe Trump as a dictator-like King? I know that would make you giddy.

Lets hope that twice indicted known sexual abuser is never put in power again.

The majority con House has one policy, to continue the backward facing whites only patriarchy.

You forget one thing. If Republicans win the Senate, they can remove the filibuster.

I'd like to see clear limits written into law. Enough of this "traditionally, presidents don't do that" shit. Also, it needs to be clear that the president is not above the law and can be prosecuted while in office.
