I'm not sure he's very far off from the complete truth. LA has been overrun by illegals. The soft on crime policies of democrats in political offices have made criminals confident of not being held to account. To watch "peaceful protestors" burn police cars, throw chunks of concrete at police and guardsmen and to take over portions of the city and highway and have absolutely nothin done by the mayor of the governore, it's repulsive. So the President took action. These protestors should be arrested the moment they throw a rock, set anything on fire, or put their hands on any law officer, or military member acting as a law officer. Democrats are for chaos and anarchy so they don't care.

The problem is that his loyal followers will lap it all up. We'll have an @Integrityrespec type show up and repeat all the same lies, ignoring all the arrests made by the LAPD etc. to deal with these protestors, the strong statements and support from the Mayor and Governor, because all of that is inconvenient to Donald's narrative. His followers are completely loyal and utterly committed to Donald and Donald alone.

That's what's so troubling about turning our military into a partisan force. Donald could ask the military to put a bullet between the eyes of a law-abiding citizen for no reason whatsoever, and there's probably a quarter of the armed forces that will follow his command without hesitation because they are loyal first and foremost to Donald John Trump. And can you blame them? Everywhere they look they see a trans woman playing sports, or a cat-eating Haitian, because Donald tells them that they're everywhere, and it's made them paranoid. Now apparently the 4th largest economy in the world has been "destroyed" - news to me, since I live here, but nothing any of us can say or do will convince @Integrityrespec types that any of Donald's claims are lies.

He is their Lord and Savior to them. It's a religion. You can't have a "political debate" with a religious fundamentalist.

California has the 4th largest economy in the world and part of that is because of its inclusivity. Trump is trying to destroy that and California with it. Snatching children out of classrooms is despicable behavior and yes it gets people upset. America will not tolerate gestapo tactics aimed at terrifying hard working families that did nothing wrong. Trump is the one causing the chaos and he is fooling no one but you apparently. You want to end America and turn it into a fascist state. That will not be happening no matter how much you want it. As far as Trump's "action" only 300 guardsmen were even on the street and they needed protection from the LAPD because they had no training in crowd control or even a leader. Trump's action has only made things worse and that was the goal.

Contrary to what I've heard over the years, about how the military would never follow an unconstitutional or illegal order, I don't see a lot of resistance energy.

Sorry, but if you believe it can't happen here, you're not a student of history and you don't understand human psychology. America is falling into its own mythology trap, and we're going to pay dearly for it.

That is not meant to besmirch the honor of people who've served admirably. I know there are former military members in this forum and I generally respect them, even those I know who are on the other side of the political spectrum than me. But human nature is human nature. But if protestors attack the Capitol on January 6th, get arrested, tried and found guilty, should they be set free? The president took action there, too - long after the fact. What do you think defund the police was actually about?

Understanding that communities wanted less funding going to militarize police departments and instead have more funding more appropriate community services doesn't mean people don't support the military or law enforcement.

When we look at what y’all are condoning we ask ourselves if your media didn’t explain to you what “defund the police” actually refers to or you couldn’t get your head around the simple concept.

I mean, you hate unions, but one of, if not the, purpose was to end the contract with the union so that a new contract would be required that would address loopholes that let bad cops get away with an appalling amount of shit. Taxpayers that no longer want their tax money paying abusive police officers that far too often end up costing their city millions of dollars a year. Protected by the union contracts. They keep working. At most maybe just getting sent elsewhere to be someone else’s problem.

Miller, Bannon, conservative treehouse and the gang who control/influence Trump policy are desperately looking for a successor. A younger successor, but one just as stupid and as controllable. I just figure most of it is noise from people who couldn’t cut it here in California to begin with. This is an amazing state but there is a high bar to be able to make it here and not everybody is going to be able to rise to the challenge. And that’s fine, there’s always Oklahoma or Mississippi for them.
