Trump calls for a new census to exclude undocumented immigrants

U.S. President Donald Trump announced in a social media post on Thursday that he has directed the Department of Commerce to begin work on a new U.S. census that excludes undocumented immigrants from the population count.

Along with the efforts of the gerrymandering charge and like everything else with Trump, its a pretext only to retain power.

I predicted that Trump and his cronies have zero intention of giving up power.

This is part of that effort.

The breakdown of the USA as a cohesive political entity is beginning.

By law any census right now has to count the total number of persons. This means that immigrants get counted.

It would be good to know the number of illegals in each state. Doing that would make the allocation of electors more accurate or would validate the current allocation.

Yeah. You people are all “originalists” until a modern problem you don’t like which was unanticipated by 18th Century aristocrats shows up.
 
The Dems will fight tooth and nail to keep illegal aliens counted. After all, they went to such great lengths to get those people INTO the country.
 
This is nothing but the Trump administration attempting to rig the midterm elections by claiming, ironically, that things are rigged already because of immigrants.
 
Clause 2 of section 2 of the 14th Amendment addresses the issue of states excluding people from the count for representation. In that clause it is clear that citizenship is a criteria by which someone could be excluded. The courts, thus far, have not addressed this issue so forcing a decision makes sense.
