Trump expected to announce limited vaping ban this week

President Trump is expected to announced a ban on certain flavors of cartridge-based e-cigarettes while reportedly exempting the types of devices most commonly found in vape shops.

Trump is slated to make the announcement on Friday, according to two sources familiar with the matter.

It would help a lot if he knew what he was doing. A 'limited' vaping ban might not accomplish anything at all. There will be a growing black market, the result of any prohibition of this type.

The Trump admin. is banning vaping flavors popular with the growing group of youth vapers.

I think the Trump admin. has acted correctly banning fruit and sweet tasting vapes, however educating our nation's youth to not start vaping at all is key to getting them to make healthier choices.
 

Yet cigarettes kill 450k a year and are all legal..Yeah, makes sense, not..Weed kills zero and it is illegal.. Stupid stuff..

A black market is possible only if the manufacturers do not comply and continue to make the flavored cartridges. Hit them in the pocket with fines for the manufacturing, fines hefty enough which make the flavored cartridges prohibitive.

Perhaps the same type of strategy which should be used against big pharma manufacturers and importers of excessive numbers of synthetic opioids. Take the profits out of the business, and get the results which we so obviously need.

There is no point in jailing users and small retailers. Make the target the sources, the big guys, with heavy fines and long terms in prison.
 

The flavored cartridges will come from an underground black market. Always under the counter at smoke shops.

The opioids come from China where it is almost legal to make & export them using the mails. A lot more people will go to opioids once health care vanishes for the poor or underemployed.
 

Flavored vape cartridges won't be found under the counter at smoke shops or anywhere else if the manufacturers can't earn a $ making them. Earnest fines and prison for the executive and investors in those manufacturing company will kill all supplies.

Which is why we need to go after the wholesalers and the importers. This is about, in part, secure borders. The one thing that you're neglecting, opioids are seductive and cross through all economic class borders. The only reason heroin, which is now dirt cheap and purer than ever before, is not as pervasive as cocaine is because no one gets arrested with a prescription for Oxycontin.

Yep, but he's not banning selling weapons to Saudi and he's not banning implementation of 5G.
 
Flavored cartridges will always be available from basement & garage operations. Producing these things is not that involved & there likely is a big profit margin.
