President Donald Trump has called for a "major investigation" into celebrities who aided Kamala Harris' 2024 election campaign, including Bruce Springsteen, Beyoncé, Oprah, and Bono, saying their appearances were potentially illegal contributions. The president's call for an investigation comes amid a spat between Trump and Springsteen, after the musician, known as The Boss, opened his tour on Wednesday night by calling the Trump administration "corrupt, incompetent and treasonous." In response, Trump took to his social media platform Truth Social and called Springsteen "a pushy, obnoxious JERK" and a "dried-out 'prune' of a rocker." Springsteen spoke out again after Trump's social media post, saying that events in America "are altering the very nature of our country's democracy."

Just after last year's election, there were claims that Beyoncé was paid $10 million for her appearance in Harris' campaign. But the singer's mother, Tina Knowles, hit back in a post on Instagram targeting the conservative commentator Candace Owens' post about it. "So, this has been flagged on Instagram as fake news and taken down. It's called false Information," Knowles said. "The lie is that Beyoncé was paid $10 million to speak at a rally in Houston for Vice President Kamala Harris," she added. "When in fact: Beyoncé did not receive a penny for speaking at a Presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris' rally in Houston." "In fact, she actually paid for her own flights for her and her team, and total Glam," she said.

Another example of Trump wanting to weaponize the justice department. Like a dictator, he wants to stamp out any critical speech against him. This is a blatant disregard for 1st Amendment rights. Criticizing leaders is one of the most important reasons for the 1st Amendment. The founders dared criticize and question the king in the Declaration of Independence which led to the American Revolution. That is why the ability to criticize political leaders is so critical to our system of government. Trump likes to ignore the constitution and break his oath of office when it suits his personal preferences. He is a thin skinned weakling who isn’t of the proper character to hold the serious office of president.

See article above. According to Beyonce's mother - Tina Knowles - Beyonce received nothing for her appearances and even paid her own airfare to attend Harris rallies.

Many entertainers - including Springsteen - had to threaten the Trump campaign with lawsuits for using artist songs without permission.

And while Trump threatens entertainers, his GOP House is about to vote to strip millions of Americans from their Medicaid health insurance.

Unlike Trump, the Harris campaign paid for the work of event organizers. Trump never pays his bills. He pockets the money for himself while leaving event organizers to sue him for payment. He is the last person to criticize how campaign money is spent, or in his case, how it is not spent but kept illegally.

However, Politico reported that these allegations have been refuted by Beyoncé’s mother and Winfrey, who insisted that the artists did not receive any personal fees for their endorsements. Campaign finance records indicate that Harris’ campaign paid $165,000 to Beyoncé’s production company and $1 million was paid to Winfrey’s company, Harpo Productions.

What constitutes an illegal contribution? If the performers worked for free, then I could see how that may need to be reported. I expect the law is fairly explicit on these matters. Should be an open and shut case.

But this is just another weave-brain cry for help. It's not supposed to make sense.

I put them into two categories. Those who genuinely have been sucked into the cult and can NOT abide any criticism of Trump.
The 2nd category, I suspect, are those that might be getting spooked a bit by how insane Trump is behaving, but still need feel the need to "troll the left" for giggles.

Most of them never signed up for all of this. They were brought along slowly and got into it deeper and deeper until they can't get out without losing a lot of face and friends in their deplorable peer pressure groups. They avoid facts like the plague. Instead they focus on bullshit rumors they reinforce by repetition. They are their own security blanket against the reality of the real world and real news.
