Interesting chart from the economist that shows Trump's approval rating by state.

Clicking on the "2024 voters" tab shows him doing better in what I would call the "surprise" states of TX, FL, KS, UT, MO, IA, IN, and OH. But he still seems underwater in all of the recent swing states.

There are some other interesting charts on the same page. Gen-Xers (particularly white ones) continue to be his strongest fanbase. Not sure what happened to them to screw them up so badly.

158 days into Donald Trump’s term

The president's net approval rating is -14%,
down 2.8 points since last week.
40% approve, 55% disapprove, 5% are not sure

Fake poll. TDS. "Hatred" of Trump. And........................... whatabout...................... Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Hillary, or someone else?

Who are the 5% who are still unsure?

So much can change in the next few years for the better or worse for Trump. Hopefully it’ll continue to get worse. Right now my biggest concern is who the democrats will select as their next candidate. Anyone too far left of center will be a poor choice and history will repeat itself with the possibility of Miller, Vance, Hegseth, et. al. will still be in the picture.

There is never a concern that the GOP will put into place a radical piece of shit racist.

Why is there always a concern that the Dems will be too far left?

Lack of sports success? Lack of sex? Lack of professional success? Lack of money?

Because the election will be determined in the heartland and with independents again. The U.S. despite what many say is really a centrist nation.

When given the choice between a person who is a racist piece of shit who wants to throw trans kids into a wood chipper and a person who thinks that health care for all is a good idea... it is rather silly to compromise with that.

Nihilism.

Very interesting chart.

Sadly, we live in a country that tolerates racism more than progressivism. Or at least to date we have done so.

Not everyone shares the same priorities as you do. You’ve narrowed it down to two when there are so many other priorities voters are concerned about.

I read an interesting article a while back on the very serious social issues young white men are facing today. It was quite comprehensive and spoke to increased social isolation, issues with meaningful sexual relationships, career issues etc. One thing that caught my attention was that their social isolation was resulting in them turning more and more to the internet and podcasts like Joe Rogan. There are very few left leaning shows like his, shows that reach out to young men. Overall it seems to me that, while the Dems do a good job reaching out to young women, they really put no effort into addressing the concerns of young men.

I have narrowed it down to what the GOP currently is and what is a moderate position to the rest of the world.

It’s that touchy feely thingy.😂

It’s more than that about the GOP. Both parties have gotten off track and right now both appear to be embracing the extremes of opposite ends of the spectrum.

Would love to get a link to that article if you can find it. My stepson is in his early twenties and embodies exactly what you are speaking to here. He is very much into right wing media figures like Jordan Peterson and has recently adopted a very strict, almost Dominionist Christianity. Like a lot of young white men these days I get the sense he's feeling society provides neither structure nor meaning for him so he's gone to extremes finding it elsewhere.

I'll try and find it
