Trump An FBI Informant? Speaker Mike Johnson Says President Helped Target Epstein Network​

House Speaker Mike Johnson ignited controversy on Thursday by claiming President Donald Trump once served as an FBI informant to help dismantle Jeffrey Epstein's trafficking network. Johnson told reporters Trump "was an FBI informant in an effort to take Epstein down" and had long expressed sympathy for victims. The assertion lacks confirmation from the FBI or Justice Department.

A political storm broke out on September 5 after House Speaker Mike Johnson declared that President Donald Trump acted as an FBI informant in efforts to take down Jeffrey Epstein's trafficking network. Speaking during a press briefing, Johnson insisted Trump "wasn't calling Epstein a hoax" but instead recognised the "unspeakable evil" involved, citing Trump's decision to bar Epstein from Mar-a-Lago in the mid-2000s.

Johnson added that Trump had discussed the matter with him as recently as September 4, describing him as "deeply sympathetic" to Epstein's victims. His comments echoed a hot mic conversation involving Rep. Mike Collins earlier in the week, first picked up by reporters in Washington.



Does this mean that Trump wasn't telling the truth when he said he banned Epstein from Mar-a-Lago because he was stealing his Mar-a-Lago staff? No, don't tell me Trump lied, I don't believe it.
 
I think he's trying to say Epstein was an FBI informant.

Who would Epstein inform on? Does it make any sense for a man running a sex trafficking ring to go to the FBI about anything?

Yeah, but if he really said "Trump was such good friends with Epstein because he was an 'FBI informant' trying to take him down", that sentence really only makes sense if he was saying Trump was the informant.

Trump can't remember what the person before the last person said, unless it was very flattering. He'd be a horrible informant.

I was going by the sentence posted above. I didn't really catch everything Johnson was saying. But even still, it could be taken as 'Trump kicked him out of Mar-a-Lago. Trump was an FBI informant'. Which doesn't really make sense as to why he would do that, but what HAS made sense in this whole thing?
 
Mike needs to tread carefully.

It’s dangerous for him to call Donald a snitch.
