"Sept 13 (Reuters) - A federal judge ruled on Friday that U.S. President Donald Trump's administration had unlawfully directed the firing of thousands of federal workers, but the judge did not order their reinstatement, citing recent U.S. Supreme Court decisions.

...

Everett Kelley, the American Federation of Government Employees' national president, in a statement said Alsup's ruling "makes clear that thousands of probationary workers were wrongfully fired, exposes the sham record the government relied upon, and requires the government to tell the wrongly terminated employees that OPM’s reasoning for firing them was false."
The White House did not respond to a request for comment on Saturday."

Here's my question...

How does Trump/MAGA continue to get away with PREACHING about rounding up law breakers WHEN ALL THEY DO IS BREAK OUR LAWS?

"It was wrong but I didn't do anything about it."

I want to say.... no, no. This is important. They ruled that the administration was *NAUGHTY*!

But this is SCOTUS's doing. Can't tell the government it can't do illegal shit outside of the district the court is in, apparently. Goddamn the waste of money involved if challenging nationwide policies really remains filing in every single federal district court

EDIT: and money is the least of it. Between this and infinite immunity, they've greenlit whatever the flying **** a Republican president wants to do

Fire that judge.

WTF?

They determine an illegal act but DON'T mandate any repair?

Democracy my ass! The USA chants democracy and wages wars in its name but is a long ****ing way of actually practicing it.

And since Trump was allowed to stack the court with 75% of its appointments any hope of even mocking a democracy is lost. Independent court system my ass.

Sounds like liberal obstructionist judges trying run the executive branch, Overreach. The government has 3 branches and the district judges seem to be meddling where they don't belong on a daily bases.

In the end, truth is whatever we agree it to be. Even with undeniable evidence, we can convince it means something else. Trump did something Trump would do. Trump will get away with it due to the "rule of cool" principle. No one really cares and really jail would be anti climatic. I say let him have his fun on this one. I think his Love Island cameo has the only meat left in making him face any legal consequences, and honestly, it feels automatically forgiven by MAGA preemptively at this point. Some might be jealous.

Trump meddled in US cities where he doesn’t belong. Why not judges?

If/when someone brings a lawsuit in federal district court, who do you suggest runs the courtroom?

Just another area where Congress will need to make "President's authority" as narrowly clear as possible once Trump is gone & sane adults are in charge in both Houses.

Obama, five years in, still has a public jobs deficit of 645,000 to make up if he wants to break even as a government job-creator

I supported Obama mass terminating US workforce jobs

Did you ?
well, adding in state and local jobs with federal gives that number.
I didn't realize obama ran states and local government. weird.

As the judge noted, he couldn't order a reinstatement of the jobs because SCOTUS has already said such terminations are lawful.

So he did not act to lawlessly, but he did stray from his lane.
