Trump Admin. to Gut the Endangered Species Protection Act

He is the Grinch spoiling everything good and decent.

That's a very conservative viewpoint you have there. Everything was better at sometime in the past, and we should return to that time whatever it takes.

Don't get me wrong. I'm for conserving resources to a practical extent.

Nise try however more pathetic than correct.

What a crazy, nastyass honey badger he is....now he's going to take his hatred of America out on endangered animals and the efforts to preserve their existences? And just when you thought he'd reached the rock bottom of despicability, he once again proves there is no end to his reign of pure evil. SMH....

Well then you're not opposed to things changing in the course of progress. Like maybe the Double Dick Salamander population of a dozen examples ceases to exist, because the 20 foot long ditch that is the entire extent of its habitat is in the way of a new road.

Hey - Doesn't Donny Junior have a god given right to have a stuffed California condor, a bald eagle, and a spotted owl, mounted on his wall? Huh? Well doesn't he? Taxidermy can be a new Trump jobs program! They can teach it at Harvard using government grant money.

Progress?????? It's condemning certain animal species to extinction. Guess you're OK with that...I guess no one ever told you that all living things in the animal world contribute in some way to the ecosystem and well being of the planet as a whole.

Salamanders contribute to the forest ecosystem by controlling pest populations, storing nutrients, and serving as a food source for other animals. They act as "vacuum cleaners" of the forest floor, consuming insects and other invertebrates, thus regulating populations of leaf shredders and other organisms. They also accumulate carbon and nitrogen in their bodies, which can be released back into the ecosystem when they die, as The New York Times notes. Additionally, they are prey for a variety of predators, including snakes, birds, and mammals, playing a role in the food web.

Yes...salamanders in general. Not a double digit population of a species living in a limited area that's in the way of a road that many humans might find necessary.

It's okay though. Yours is just a much more extremist version of conservative ideology than I am personally comfortable with.

:ROFLMAO: NOT conservative about anything BUT animals and preserving this planet. Nice try..

That's what I said your extreme conservatism entails. So not only was it a "nice try", it was wonderfully accurate. As you just verified.

Rediculous post.... I'm the furthest thing from an extreme conservative, you know that. Not responding to your wierd baiting posts anymore. Adios.

You just admitted to conservatism in the case of "animals and preserving this planet". And I find your conservatism in that regard rather extreme. Sometimes animals are in the way. Some animal species are insignificant. In fact, there are many cases of animal populations where it isn't even clear if this or that little variation of creature is a separate species.

So if the Double Dick Salamander is pretty much functionally identical to his single dick brothers a mile away in a different ditch...sorry about that, DDS. Human needs are a priority.

He is the Grinch spoiling everything good and decent.

This is no surprise, sadly.

So many far right conservatives bleat...so "tell us what's wrong with being conservative, how does it hurt you?" Remember poster Conservative? He whined that all the time...as if he couldnt even imagine anything. (I listed things and he never acknowledged them)

Here's one of the examples...de-regulation. Destroying safety and environmental regulations and leaving a toilet for future generations. Destroying air and water quality. Destroying things that cant be replaced. The right is all "I want mine now, screw the future". Same towards education, climate change, and more.

"It's about more jobs!" They claim. The govt doesnt owe you jobs. But if they get you jobs and you're the middle class, then they'll get lots of tax $ out of you.

Destroy something unique on the planet that cannot be replaced? For a road that can be redirected or redesigned? No.

Genetic diversity is what makes ecosystems strong...it's cumulative and if you create dead ends for enough species...one after the other...it matters. It's not just one species...it's one species, then the next, then the next inconvenient one, etc.

My degree is a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Management...it all matters.

Very nice degree Lursa! It's frightening how many species of wonderful animals are in severe danger..and it's in everyone's best interest that these animals survive!

You mean conservationist, not conservative. Get a grip because that post is ridiculous.

I know what I meant and said what I meant. I notice you aren't refuting it.

It sounds like this is not a law, but someone's earlier interpretation of what constitutes "harm".
If congress wanted to codify into law the meaning of "harm", they could have but choose not to.
They likely choose not to because of plausible deniability, "not my decision, that was the EPA!"
While it is important to protect wildlife, people do have property rights.

Well, when you plan on buzzsawing down federal lands for an unnecessary logging industry or allowing lands to be mined for coal or oil…you’ve got to get rid of those pesky environmental regulations that have prevented such 🤷‍♀️

I’m all for compromise when development is necessary.

But this Administration doesn’t act in good faith, nor in the best interest of American people (let alone any animal species)

Ridiculous hyperbole. That's not what this is about. This is about the whole principle of protecting the habitats of endangered species, not a dozen salamanders.
Reducing large issues to ridiculously exaggerated simplicities just wastes your time and attention. You want some ridiculous hyperbole? Here...
You lot won't be satisfied until the only animals left are domestic and living in pens.
How's that for reducing a large issue to an exaggerated simplicity?
