I also saw the Bibi interview where FOX asked him directly if Trump waved off the assassination. Bibi would not confirm but did go on to say such ops would lead to more "complication" ( Israel is happy where it's at taking out ballisti missiles /nuke enrichment and the leadership IRGC)

I personally think this is an ideal situation to once an for all stop nuclear Iran and proliferation to it's terrorists proxies
If you go after civilian/religious leaders it means war against the Islamic Shi'a faith, and not just the IRGC -needless "complication"

Inside the White House, there continues to be heavy skepticism about getting involved in the conflict further, according to multiple officials familiar with the matter. Trump remains concerned about getting dragged into a war he didn’t start and wanted to avoid, and is acutely aware of the complicated politics at play, those officials said.

Over the weekend, one senior US official told CNN, the Israelis had an opportunity to kill Iran’s supreme leader. The US communicated to Israel that Trump opposed that plan, the senior official said, and the plan was not executed. Trump is eager to de-escalate, wary of becoming bogged in another Middle East war and highly attuned to the changing politics of his party.

Trump has stopped well short of joining Israel’s military in its attempts to dismantle Iran’s nuclear facilities, resisting pressure from fellow Republicans to join the fight.

Dude. You support Putin. Putin assassinates little kids.

It depends on how thats read. for sure Bibi wants strategic ambiguity. But if you look at the CNN article OP source here
we know Trump waved off US joining Israeli ops (unless US interests are directly attacked) while fully supporting Israels' ops.

IOW Trump has always been cautious abut escalating a war/ which killing Khamenei would surely do.
The Iranian people are sick of living in poverty and fundamentalism, and there have been waves of protests over the years ( Like the Green Movement under Obama and Trump) and taking out the religious leadership would posibly lead the people to support the regime against assassination. It could be counterproductive.

Taking out the Ayatollah when it's not needed as Israel is kicking butt -can only lead to unnecessary "complications"

A solid majority of Iraq hated Saddam Hussein's ass when we overthrew him. Do we need to go over how that turned out?

agree. such blow back is common when it comes to regime change. ( Libya) or the Taliban coming back stronger in Afghan after we dumped them the first time..we got lucky in Syria when al-Nusra and the terrorist Salafi became "mainstream" (HTS) after Assad was dumped

Litte kids in SE Asia. Little kids in Central America, Little kids in SW Asia.

Little kids dying everywhere. What is wrong with us? (Rhetorical. feel free to respond.)

The previous administration has put Trump in a pickle, no doubt:

“The Biden administration will spin Iran’s actions as a concession. But the administration’s flawed Iran policy has allowed Tehran to expand its nuclear program, and the Islamic Republic is now on the threshold to nuclear weapons.” — Anthony Ruggiero, Senior Director of FDD’s Nonproliferation and Biodefense Program and Former Deputy Assistant to the President and National Security Council Senior Director for Counterproliferation and Biodefense

“U.S. policy is, de facto, underwriting the expansion of Iran’s nuclear capabilities and terrorist threats. It’s time for Congress to use its oversight rights and stop the administration from freeing up more funds for the Tehran regime.” Andrea Stricker, Deputy Director of FDD’s Nonproliferation and Biodefense Program

“The policy of paying Iran to roll back its nuclear capabilities has failed dramatically. The fig leaf of slowing the rate of 60 percent enrichment is too small to cover up the ongoing expansion of Iran’s nuclear weapons-related capabilities.” — Richard Goldberg, FDD Senior Advisor

"Illicit Iranian oil exports surpassed 2.2 million barrels per day in August, Bloomberg reported on August 21. This volume exceeds the five-year high Iran reached in May as the United States declined to enforce existing U.S. sanctions on Iranian oil exports. The growth came as Reuters reported that $6 billion in frozen Iranian assets in South Korea were transferred to Switzerland’s central bank in exchange for the release of five Iranian American hostages in Iran. It also came one month after the United States permitted Iraq to release $10 billion to pay off its natural gas import debts to Iran."

And before, and before,... and so on, We could go back to the earliest civilizations, if you'd like we could go play the blame game ad infinatum?! ;) ☮️

What I don't see factored here is the speeding up of uranium enrichment after Trump pulled out of the JCPOA. What is also missing here is the fact of who Iran's biggest oil clients are and the limited effect US policy has on that.

While the JCPOA offered Iran relief from economic sanctions, there was always the question of not giving full access to to the IAEA inspectors. And it's pretty clear Iran was going to cheat on the deal as much as it could without re-imposition of sanctions.

Sanctions worked to cripple Iranian exports - Iran was selling less then $20 billion - but the root problem was Iran's all-in to make a nuke

All the deals were essentially worthless, as Iran had a Plan(s) to manufacture a nuke..
*details*
...The nuclear archive, as it's called, has yielded fresh insights into Iran's past R&D on nuclear weapons and its plans for underground testing that IAEA says call into question the "correctness and completeness" of declarations Iran made in 2003, when it agreed to come clean on its nuclear program and permit inspectors broad access to sites.

Iran had hoped the deal would end questions about its shuttered bomb effort. But IAEA now wants to know the whereabouts of a disk of uranium metal that could be used to generate neutrons for triggering fission in a bomb's U-235 core.

Except with the JCPOA it slowed their development and even with them trying to get around inspections there was far more transparency then there was after the fact, and it can't be denied their enrichment process sped up after the fact.

Under Biden's and democrats failed foreign policy, Iran was permitted income to facilitate the enrichment process.....something you are not seeing.

Sure it was a band aid to slow down the bleeding. various time frames show up to an extra year delay for Iran to weaponize
Beyond delays and deals the core problem is Iran cannot be trusted -even if verified -to keep an agreement. Their goal was always nukes.

Now they are facing some serious 'delays" Israel is determined to neutralize the threat

That's an interesting version of history that neglects the ending of the JCPOA which is what led to Iran enriching uranium at a faster rate, and it's why now the current administration's been trying to negotiate something very similar to the JCPOA. Odd, that.
:)

Amnesia of the prior four years is not the proper way of determining facts. Iran would not release the information they were supposed to under the JCPOA anyways, then neglecting all the monies that landed in the coffers under the democrats.......wait, never mind.....this is TDS, I'm sorry for your affliction.

Thats Israel for ya, always murdering and stealing.

Well lets face it the USA too LOL, we're not really any better.

It appears unlikely that Donald vetoed anything. As far as Bibi is concerned, Donald is a wimp suffering from moderate dementia, and thus not worth listening to. Israel likely did everything they planned to do, regardless of Donald's little opinions.

Ain't that some Shih-Tsu

1- we are supposed to believe that Iran is the preeminent sposor of state terrorism
2- Nevertheless, their Supreme Leaders, Generals and Lead Scientists can be easily killed
3- we know that ZIONIST right wingers- the Likudnicks - killed THEIR OWN PRIME MINISTER Yitzhak Rabin
4- but thinking that they can easily kill our supreme leader DONALD J TRUMP is taboo - "an antisemitic conspiracy theory "

Why would anyone want to kill Trump? Anyone outside the USA, I mean. Trump is making America irrelevant, which means taking America out of the world's way.
Trump is wrecking America. Who, outside America, would want to interrupt that?
