Trump's genius is that he doesn't bother with coverups.Nixon's mistake was not being openly corrupt.
Nixon's mistake was not being openly corrupt.
No, we had a little better standards back then.Nixon's mistake was not being openly corrupt.
No, we had a little better standards back then.
Show your work.Presidents have the ability to fire US Attorneys at will without cause.
Not one peep from the usual suspects when Obama did.
Now why would that be?
Ahh sorry, had the wrong Dem President. Here's a rounded out list including both party's.Show your work.
President | Year(s) | Number of U.S. Attorneys Fired | Context |
---|---|---|---|
George W. Bush | 2006 | 8 | Controversial firings linked to political motivations, including allegations of improper reasons. |
Bill Clinton | 1993 | 93 | Replaced all U.S. attorneys upon taking office, a common practice for incoming presidents. |
Donald Trump | 2017-2021 | 34% of original staff | High turnover rate among senior aides, though not specifically U.S. attorneys. |
You're having an argument that no one is having.Ahh sorry, had the wrong Dem President. Here's a rounded out list including both party's.

None the less, what I stated was true, that the president has the authority to dismiss US attorneys at will.
Actually people in politics, government, MSM, corporate magnates and those types knew Nixon was on the take.Nixon's mistake was not being openly corrupt.
SCOTUS says Trump is above the law. He has free rein to do whatever he wants to anyone he wants and he can never be held accountable. It wouldn't shock me if Trump just decided to turn up in court for the sole purpose of mocking the judge and his fans would lap it up.
Trump has shown that he thinks he's fully above the law and again his fans agree.
The era of King Trump is already here and his fans love it.
Yes, exploiting the law to destroy the Rule of Law.None the less, what I stated was true, that the president has the authority to dismiss US attorneys at will.
We are living in a post Constitutional society I'm afraid. More of the Constitution is gone than remains of it. It's core components have been nullified by MAGAs-Trump, since 2017.SCOTUS says Trump is above the law. He has free rein to do whatever he wants to anyone he wants and he can never be held accountable.
Yes, exploiting the law to destroy the Rule of Law.
Exploiting the Constitution to destroy the Constitution.
Exploiting democracy to destroy democracy.
Since 2017. Every Day. This is what Trump & MAGAs do.
The Founders never knew nor could they know that the 1789 Constitution they wrote is perfect for a fascist takeover of the United States. Indeed, fascism did not develop until after 1850 as one of the four "isms" of modern government: Capitalism, Fascism, Communism, Socialism.
Since 2017 MAGAs keep popping up saying what Trump is doing is legal; that what Trump is doing is Constitutional; that what Trump is doing is within his authority as Potus/C'nC -- and what Trump and MAGAs say and do is Free Speech. This is virtually always true, although Trump certainly does break things and push his limits.
So yes, the Constitution as written inadvertently by the Founders is perfect for a fascist takeover in the 21st century. Yes and as we see, 21st Century Uniquely American Fascism is impossible to stop by Constitutional means. In this century the Constitution is wide open to a dictator-tyrant to bamboozle the mass of people.

Congratulations! You have made the 100,000th post of a supposed TDS since 2015.
This post is so rife with TDS it's palpable, even through the screen.

Sure... but I don't recall Clinton or Bush giving marching orders to prosecute their perceived enemies.
It seems like this is exactly what's happening. We'll have to wait if charges are filed, indictments executed, and evidence presented in the court of law.If there's predicate evidence to open an investigation, by all means go for it....
but you a President can't order Attorneys to go out and find it. That's an obvious abuse of power.
Congratulations! You have made the 100,000th post of a supposed TDS since 2015.
I'd rather have silencer for the endless TDS laden posts here, thanks. You get a glittering new TDS Golden Crutch to replace that worn and broken down one.
Off into left field, extreme left field you go again. Sheesh. The bottom line though is that your post is the no-reply-defenseless-reply. It's aMAGAemperor has no clothes reply. You might want to check again with whoever it may be who's sending you out.
Yup. Which was exactly what I was asserting in my first post on that topic. An incoming president has the authority to replace all US attorneys when taking office.
Alas, it's another push button rote MAGA post.I'd rather have silencer for the endless TDS laden posts here, thanks.
Off into left field, extreme left field you go again. Sheesh.
Yes which is yet another instance in years long events of Trump and MAGAs using the law to destroy the rule of law.An incoming president has the authority to replace all US attorneys when taking office.
A further demonstration of how tenuous your grip on reality.Alas, it's another push button rote MAGA post.
"Left field" and so on.
And a "silencer" besides for a good measure eh. How ambiguous of you. Removing all doubt of course as if any doubt existed which does not. Never was any doubt about 21st Century Uniquely American Fascism and its long time intentions about "the left"and Democrats and democrats.
