Seems if you have tribal tags on your vehicle and are not living in the recognized reservation boundaries you can now be ticketed by the state of Oklahoma.
Those that are members of the Cherokee, Choctaw and Chickasaw tribes are not affected as they have compacts with the state that cover the tribal tags.

I know that years ago I was told not buy a used car with tribal tags as the Oklahoma tag agents would require that you pay the fee for the years the vehicle was under tribal registration. Not sure if that is true today with non compact tribal registered vehicles.
The state is saying that the tribes are not making their data base readily available so that registrations can be verified during routine traffic stops.
