Train station takeover? Trump administration to take control of DC's Union Station

Worth repeating - the US Department of Transportation owns and controls this station. It's not an issue of the federal government reaching further, or taking control of anything.

The DOT leased the station to Amtrak, who managed it at an operational level. Amtrak did a crappy job maintaining the facility - specifically allowing it to be home to homeless encampments. The DOT is cancelling the arrangement.
