Top Trump officials will meet with China amid trade war

No they aren't. This meeting is solely about de-escalation and lowering of existing tariffs as a condition of starting trade talks. China is demanding tariffs be dropped THEN they will talk trade.
 
Unfortunately for us, Trump negotiates with his eye on the past, China, with its eye on the future.
