BTW, it's Earvin Johnson.
Your right, limiting it to ten is pretty hard, but here goes:Originally posted by Arthur Fonzarelli
excuse me - I'm usually more on top of things like that. I should have just typed Magic.
The list is opinion - & it was of just 10 players. You can't have everybody. Even considering the ones you brought to my attention doesn't take away that all those on my list are certainly deserving of being there.
I'll tell you what - I'll give up Kareem & Jordan for West & Baylor.
by the way - where's your list?

...picture this scene...1 minute & 32 seconds to go - the Celtics down by 16 - Heinson gets a technical & is thrown out of the game (the tech. shots are made - now they're down by 18) - time out is called by the Celtics after the shots - they walk onto the court with that Celtic Pride sort of swagger - Red Auerbach, sitting behind the bench, lights his victory cigar at 42 seconds left when the lead has been cut to 8 points - Havlicek makes a last second fade-away to win the game...
I loved those days...
BTW - some other greats on that list as well.
here's the greatest game ever played...

Celtics never went anywhere until they replaced Easy Ed McCauley with some guy named Bill.Originally posted by Navy Pride:
People nowadays are to young....They don't remember how great Bob Cousy was.......His passes were amazing and he made Bill Sharman a all star every year.......

I'm not going to argue against Wilt. Wilt's my man. But Russell's hall of famers didn't help him much in '67. All that talent done got spanked!Originally posted by Navy Pride:
I can't argue with that but Russell could not carry Wilt's jock.......It just that Russell had a bunch of hall of famers on his team to compliment him.......

Wilt the Stilt should be number one. Scored 100 points in a single game. That feat will never be repeated.
It was actually 71 points. But it might as well been 85. He did it against the Celtics (with Bill Russell), in the playoffs at Boston Garden!Originally posted by danarhea
