I saw today that the Biden Administration is sending 1 Billion Dollars to Africa. At this time, American Citizens are suffering from the effects of two hurricanes and are receiving little to no care. I have friends who have relatives who have not received any help. I have relatives who are splitting their time between Sparta, Tennessee, and their home trying to get help. If it matters, and it appears it does, all are Trump supporters. Why is this administration so tone-deaf to what is happening in America?

If you are watching most MSM, you will not be seeing any coverage of the suffering in Florida and North Carolina. If you are watching MSM, you will not be seeing the outrage of citizens in Chicago. Chicago is approaching a billion dollars in debt. Still, for each of the past 2 years, Chicago has spent upwards of $320 million on illegal immigrants. The mayor has said that he, "won't blink" when it comes to Trump and handling the illegal immigration problem. Recent board meetings have turned into citizens being limited to the number of people who can speak and time limits on them. They are outraged over the spending on illegals while ignoring the Black Community. If any of you have seen this, and again the MSM is not showing this, several people have stated in the past two months that they are done with the Democratic Party and can't wait for Trump to take office. In fact, one said that he supports Trump's Administration putting Mayor Johnson in jail for what he is doing. (Not working with ICE to get rid of the illegals.) Mayor Johnson's response is that he intends to raise taxes and work with Pritzker to find other "Progressive" ways to increase revenue. Why are these Democrats so tone-deaf?

Utter rubbish. Foreign aid has been given by every administration and congress, republican and democrat, since 1947.

To say this is Biden's fault further proves you have no idea how your government works. Further, disaster relief funds are separate from foreign aid funds.

Please, for God's sake, stop referring to legal immigrants as illegals. All this does is confuse the issue. If you have a problem with the number of legal immigrants, address that problem. Simply labeling them illegal is counterproductive because it isn't true.

Also, disaster relief delays are not always due to lack of funds. There are only so many access roads to the affected areas. So many work crews experienced in rebuilding. So many materials available at any given time. Insurance company delays. And congress can always appropriate more funds if needed.

You seem to have a problem with foreign aid. Fine. But that problem has nothing to do with disaster relief. And foreign aid flows no matter what political party is in control.

Lesson over. I worked my way through college as a tutor but I go paid for it then.

But China is spending huge amounts of money there. They are helping them build out their infrastructure and economies. They will be more than happy to see the US just cut all ties there and leave. I don't see any problem with that. /s

NO. I view support for both Ukraine and Israel as necessary for the safety of this country. In my OP, I am concerned with the plight of people in Chicago (and other cities) and those who continue to suffer from a lack of government support after the hurricanes. Monies sent overseas not to include Ukraine and Israel can be cut and redirected to US Citizens. I guess this concept bothers people. Damn. Then again, both those speaking out in Chicago and those left abandoned in Florida and North Carolina are mostly Trump supporters so I guess some of you can justify your positions based upon hatred of Trump. (As an aside and to be honest, I have distant relatives in Ukraine.)

Absolutely true. And it's right to say we should appropriate more money for disaster relief and less for foreign aid. But that's not what was said.

What happened here was an attempt to blame Biden and democrats for sending money overseas when that money could have been spent on disaster relief. That's wrong, inaccurate, and not how our government functions.
