attacking dubya for profiting on the injured soldiers he needlessly sent into combat
how dare the truth be exposed
I agree. We need more GWB threads. Can't talk about him enough. His speaking engagements are the biggest crises facing our country today.
the unadulterated greed, to profit from the very soldiers he needlessly sent into harm's way, does typify one of our nation's major problems
To The Hague!!Maybe we can charge him with a crime of greed. I know I won't sleep well tonight until I know GWB isn't profiting off anything.

i hear you
you would prefer we would not discuss a rich man, who sent the soldiers into combat, exposing them to tragedy, then profiting from their dire circumstance
I love rich men. Capitalism is a good thing. I was against the Iraq War. I posted that hundreds of times on here. GWB probably was paying his bills just fine before this speaking engagement. I don't recall that we had reinstated the draft so I'm not sure how Bush could send soldiers anywhere against their will.
Okay, so now we've discussed it. Feel better?
as you note, dubya didn't need to profit off of those injured soldiers, to pay his bills
but that reality - that greed - did not prevent him from profiting at their expense
what makes me feel better is handing the reich wing its ass on this matter

I don't know how to reach him, but maybe we can contact his press secretary and make sure that he consults you on all of his speaking engagements going forward so you can let him know what you approve of. It looks like this really bothered you. It doesn't bother me. It isn't my money, just like i don't care who pays Billy Clinton for his pearls of wisdom. As long as it's someone else paying for them, not my worry. Not my business either.
and if dubya had not been the person who sent those men and women into harm's way, such that they now seek the assistance of charity, i would not be alarmed that a profit is made
but it is beyond callous for the very person who is responsible for their medical problems to now be profiting from those veterans and their plight
but then your ethical standards might significantly differ from mine
You mean when your trying to connect this to Jeb somehow? Yeah, that was a good ass handing there.
And if he does you'll vote for him?all jeb has to do is acknowledge that it was inappropriate of his brother to profit from the veterans he placed in harm's way
now let's see if he does so
and if he doesn't, recognize he would have the same set of values as his unconscionable brother and is similarly unfit to be the president of this nation

Lol, of course not. It's all just political theater for Justabubba.Maybe the 4th time is the charm?

As a wounded vet allow me to address your dismissive attitude. First we who serve in Combat Arms do so to SERVE the Nation, we have to trust the Decider in Chief doesn't use us for some Fool's Errand, but our CODE OF HONOR and BOND with our fellow grunts has us doing things many civilians are quite dismissive about. I'd opine many soldiers went against their will as they didn't sign up to plant the seeds of democracy in a desert, but to support and defend the Constitution.
But they went, served, fought, died or were horribly wounded because they feel a higher calling than their personal opinion on the right or wrong of the conflict.
But keep that 'no draft' crap to yourself.
Now BushII many many times tried to wrap himself up in the banner of selfless sacrifice and how noble the cause was these veterans suffered such injury. He was their Decider in Chief, he could have forgone the fee, the plane ride perhaps not, and done a little sacrifice himself for the cause he claims to be so involved in.
Don't see this as anything for or against Jeb, he seems talented enough on faux pas that he doesn't need any help...eace
To Help US Veterans Charity, George W. Bush Charged $100,000 - ABC News
not going to help jeb's presidential effort
of course jeb is not helping himself, insisting we need to work longer hours
and a look at jeb's current campaign:

What is being missed is that disabled veterans should not depend or in fact need charity. Doesn't the responsibility rest with Veterans Administration? I despise the fact that implication of the organization is that disabled vets need charity.
Bush has a lot cheek accepting an invitation to speak much less receiving a check to do it.
Because the only good President is the one who calls out his siblings.
Maybe the 4th time is the charm?
