What did he do with the speaking fees? He laundered it through his charitable foundation to save on taxes and ensure he had a large slush fund to secretly make more money. Whoops, wrong former President.
In all seriousness, getting invited to speak at a charity event should never result in getting paid any more than traveling expenses.
Greetings, ocean515. :2wave:
Plus he refused his government pension. Did Bill Clinton do the same? Let's stop the Bush bashing - six years of covering your ass by blaming Bush for everything is more than enough! :2mad:
I can't stand Jeb. He is like Golum to me. I still have to say your argument is really weak and lame. It doesn't deserve anymore thought than has gone into this post. Out here.

no, let's assign some personal responsibility for repugnant action
the very president who needlessly sent these veterans into war that maimed them is now charging to speak at a fundraiser on their behalf
who the hell is cold enough to do that
What's aslo being left out is that this is an answer ti Hillary charging speaking fees for charities and since they couldn't pin anything like on Jeb, they are going back to 2008 and running against W, despite the fact that he isn't a candidate.
so, you think it was an appropriate action for dubya to charge for helping the veterans injured in his wars
Jeb and W are brothers, not a husband and wife that are both legally connected to the issues that Bill is being questioned about. Show the legal connection between what W did (which BTW - I think was a case where he should have only charged traveling expenses) and Jeb. I can show the connection between Hillary and the Bill Clinton Foundation with great ease.
a spouse is fair game while a sibling is not
why does that seem a partisan position in this instance
yet another apologist who insists dubya was appropriate in charging $100,000 to speak before a charitable organization helping the troops injured in his wars of choice
Which has nothing to do with Jeb whatsoever. Keep trying though, the desperation is pretty comical.you WISH this was a non-story
clearly, jeb's brother, the former president responsible for getting us involved in unnecessary wars that caused the injury to many of our nation's soldiers, found it acceptable to charge $100,000 to speak at an event intended to fundraise for those purple heart recipients
what does that matter? he accepted them. he charged the charity that was helping the veterans injured in dubya's wars of choice
I don't recall reading that GWB was running for President again. Do you have a link?Remember all, if this was about Hillary Clinton there would be an outrage from everyone on the right. Since this is about W, we hear crickets.
Bill Clinton would get five times that much.
Anyone who would criticize President Bush in this manner hasn't a clue about the man or what he and the Bush Institute does and has done to support wounded and other veterans since he left office.

I think that you are trying to spin for drama. I also think that if you removed the drama and actually looked beyond a spin article I would be surprised. In other words, if you were really interested in truth and right/wrong you would be raising hell about Hillary rather than dismissing her actions like you previously did in this thread. Jeb is as slimy as they get. I don't like the guy. I would vote for Bernie before I would vote for Jeb. What his brother does is a far reach. Is that all you have? Really? That is the act of desperation.
Which has nothing to do with Jeb whatsoever. Keep trying though, the desperation is pretty comical.
apple doesn't fall far from the tree
let's see jeb distance himself from his brother's very inappropriate money grab at the expense of injured troops
He accepted pay for a speaking engagement, and that signals the end of his brother's bid for the nomination.
This has to be one of the oddest threads I've seen on here.
Oh now you want to talk about the principle of the topic, instead of the silly hackish partisan comparison to Hillary you attempted before? So its not about the principle of the matter? Glad we can clear it up that its about hackish partisan politics and not some sort of principled issue.
To Help US Veterans Charity, George W. Bush Charged $100,000 - ABC News
not going to help jeb's presidential effort
of course jeb is not helping himself, insisting we need to work longer hours
and a look at jeb's current campaign:
View attachment 67187039
it comes on the heel of jeb - never a working man - telling us we need to work more hours and more productively to climb out of the rut his brother created
now, let's see if jeb will distance himself from his brother's very unconscionable money grabbing actions at the expense of troops injured in dubya's wars of choice
Why would it have anything to do with Jeb's presidential bid?
what we HAVE learned is that dubya charged $100,000 to speak at a charity event intended to help the military personnel who sustained injury during his wars of choice
jeb needs to criticize his brother's money grab at the injured soldiers' expense
otherwise, we voters would find that he condoned such unpatriotic behavior
