There is so much wasteful spending in this country. I could make one simple move that would reduce spending and increase employment. Simply cut food stamps and those without would suddenly find a job.
This is perhaps the 10th variation on the spending cut theme, blax has posted. Enough is enough.
Here's a concept: it's stupid to cut spending in a recession and its aftermath, except perhaps military spending, which is dead weight on the economy
All tea party memes all the time.

Oh yeah cut the military, BRILLIANT! then watch our citizens start dying everywhere but so what, at least you get your subsidy, we understand
Really? Jobs at Wal-Mart that QUALIFY people for food stamps?
How about cutting out defense? We have over 700 times the weapons and machines than all the other world combined/
Everywhere? If they want to live abroad, let that country's military protect them. We owe NOTHING to corporations who do their jobs overseas...let THEM protect THEMSELVES.
A cut in defense mean lost jobs (people that protect our freedoms), are you willing to give up those freedoms?
And we don't owe people a living that are too lazy to lift a finger to help themselves

Well, better them than teachers...what freedoms do you mean? Stop protecting corporations in the 750 bases we have in 36 countries and bring our military home. We NEED defense here...we don't need to BUILD more defense for Israel to buy.
And a cut in defense means cutting the trillions we give to the defense contractors for the R&D. You really should read about it sometime.
So should you and realize how many thousands of jobs are related to them
Those would be who? The Unemployed? What jobs do you suggest they take that will pay the rent, mortgage, food, gas prices, heating bills, etc? Republcians have knocked down wages and yet the necessities keep rising.
Those same teachers that draw a full salary only to show up for class when they want too? Those same teachers that do not want to be paid based on their actual performance? or some other teachers?
Have you ever stayed in a hotel? Ever noticed the help?
Farm labor? There are Hispanics making $60k plus each year because so many of the people already here won't work.
Paying people for bad behavior only enables them to continue it.
And teachers and police and firemen and state and federal workers whose jobs have been cut for 16 years? You really need to find out more about the high rate of unemployment the tea party governors and republicans congressmen have created. And many of these jobs are overseas into Europe and also insourced into our prisons...who really loses?
I will keepp voting for those polticians, someone has to tell these institutions NO. 1/3 of my total property taxes go to the schools, that is ridiculous.
Show me the link to your migrant farmer allegations....please...I'd love to see it.
And this are indications of the republicans removal of labor laws...nothing more. Remove the right to fair wages and you get **** wages.
If corporations paid taxes in your town your taxes would be lower. And getting rid of our public education system only hurts our economy more, as nations don't want to hire stupid people to do good jobs.
I have an idea that nobody seems to EVER talk about. Let's INSTEAD of cutting...streamline government offices. There is SO much wasteful spending at the very CORE of how the offices run. Buying supplies in bulk, rather than on a need basis, highering 4 guys for a job that can be done by 2, and spending up every ounce of the budget that they are given so they can request more at the next budget hearing. I worked in a state office as a student. I can tell you that they hired me for 40 hours over the summer. That was 20 hours LONGER than they needed ME at 9 bucks an hour to keep the place running. That was just the maintenance section. They had 3 receptionists when they only had 1 door that the public was allowed in and NEVER enough people to warrant that.
Basically...every time I have dealt with a government office...be it local, state, or federal...it is NEVER the shinning example of effeciancy or budget wise spending. You send some budget consultants in and what do you think would happen?
