As much as the majority of House Democrats wanted to avoid impeachment the way this crisis unfolded left them with no choice. The whisleblowers report was judged credible, given in good faith and credible by the IG and should have been turned over, according to the whistleblower law, directly to congress within 7 days. Instead the acting DNI intercepted the report and turned it over to tRump's administration; possibly violating the law. Then as usual when knowledge of the complaint came out the tRump administration stonewalled it's release. The details of the report that tRump had tried to extort cooperation, that would benefit his reelection campaign, from the Ukrainian President by withholding approved military aid.
Boil all the fat off, and that's what happened. Trump, by withholding the complaint from the Congressional Intelligence Committee forced Congress to start an INQUIRY into impeachment to force the release of the document to the intel committee that was, according to the WB law, the rightful recipient. So I don't understand the animosity toward Democrat's over this INQUIRY; IMHO, at this point, it's premature, unfair and unwarranted.
