Wouldn't they need a warrant? Or is DOGE above the law?
the Politico article below pretty much substantiates a similar struggle that has been going on throughout the govt of late-- these small 'independent' agencies are arguing they they are not subject to supervision by the elected political government.
Why? It's a government agency overseen by the Executive branch.
The head of the Executive Branch wants this done.
the least of it, but the 4 part series I linked has plenty of evidence NGO's were shuffling the grants around and bouncing some back to USAID bureaucratsBy law, the agency is only allowed to give grants to Africa-based groups. But it moved money through African entities and then back to the United States to pad salaries of D.C. bureaucrats and pay their friends and former employers, employees said.
And they don't need a warrant to do a search? There's an amendment for this.
I believe they saw the other court injunctions, such as USAID, which is currently in place, and as an independent agency that was established by congress, they may have a point. Since the USAID case is still under injunction, it was a likely choice to refuse their entry. It's not established that the executive can mess with Congressional power. Unless it's trump, which has created a executive-centric constitutional opinion that wasn't around before. So yeah, another indication that trump doesn't respect boundaries or laws, so he makes up laws as he goes and again, he's above the law because no one can stop him.
Congress doesn't operate these quasi agencies. They are under the jurisdiction of the Executive Branch.
And why would the executive need a warrant to oversee an executive agency? We would not expect, say, the Director of the FBI to need a warrant to see how the field office in Helena MT is doing its work.
Same principle.
Trump must be mentioned when someone calls for the law to be upheld. We can't complain about this foreign aid agency breaking the law while the lawbreaker in chief keeps on breaking it.Because Trump isn’t the topic of the thread.
Trump also must be mentioned because of DOGE.Your just upset it validates the very reason DOGE exists.
I read this a while ago and had to refresh my memoryNOt if they were kicking back money to themselves. The democrats are scum and don't mind taking our tax dollares to enrich themselves and friends. HOw anyone can defend this is beyond belief.
There seems to be some obscure stuff going on at that foreign aid agency but nothing compared to that.I actually saw, for the first time, a member of DOGE announced on Twitter that they were working at DOGE and said what they were working on, which was great and interesting, but we're not seeing that across the board. We're seeing members of DOGE actually erase their online histories, delete their LinkedIn profiles, make it more difficult to figure out who they are. So we're not getting clear answers.
The current Republican led Congress? No doubt about it. They are fully approving of criminal activity and corruption. After all, the leader of their party is a convicted felon for corruption, and all they do is look away as he continues to engage in corruption. With Trump's just-completed Middle East 'business trip', being a prime example. It didn't get much, if anything at all, done in terms of advancing US foreign interests, but it was very profitable for him and his family businesses.Do you think Congress approves of the criminal activity and corruption? I don't know, maybe they do. Maybe Congress will be implicated.
They need a warrant. You're telling me an independent agency established by congress can't be under Congressional oversight? And you're telling me the president can just order everyone around with a questionable executive order. Why is the USAID case under injunction until reviewed by the supreme Court? It's a legitimate question for SCOTUS, but for trump supporters, our king is above the law, even if Scotus wants to say otherwise.
I appreciate that sentiment. But State is perfectly capably of dispersing the grants USAID does, and it's not a corrupt entity.Well, people are starving over there now because of DOGE. Given the choice between some petty corruption and feeding people versus DOGE's massive corruption and not feeding people, I'll take the petty corruption and feeding people every time.
'
And then maybe root out the petty corruption.
And keep feeding starving people.
Its not complicated.
So using the money allocated for Africa to fatten their own pockets does nothing for you? I thought all you Dems were all about the brown skinned people.Congress appropriated the spending. If Trump’s mafia thugs try to come in and break the law, locking the doors is the right thing to do.
How do you know? DOGE told you????
Civil disobedience?
Stealing taxpayer money?
And YOU approve of it?
I'm not surprised.
"Dems were all about the brown skinned people"So using the money allocated for Africa to fatten their own pockets does nothing for you? I thought all you Dems were all about the brown skinned people.
Jesus Christ, dude. You do love to wallow in sewer-worthy news sources. It's no small wonder you're so out of touch with reality. Rosiak is resurrecting a 12-year-old accusation that has long since been resolved.Money intended for Africans was secretly re-routed to D.C. bureaucrats and their friends by racist, abusive bosses, employees say
When the Department of Government Efficiency showed up at a small USAID-linked federal agency called the African Development Foundation in March, its management locked the doors and refused to let auditors in. Its board sued to stop DOGE, and was lauded by the Left for objecting to granting “access to USADF systems including financial records, payment and human resources systems.”
But the objection, several former employees told The Daily Wire, might not have been on principled grounds, but rather because those records amounted to a crime scene.
The African Development Foundation’s employees have been sounding the alarm for years about self-dealing, cruelty, and anti-white discrimination. Money sent to Africa was then wired to the personal bank accounts of bureaucrats in Washington, D.C. An official promoted his for-profit, multi-level marketing scheme to poor Africans. Law enforcement identified possible criminal kickbacks. And those who now lament DOGE’s shuttering of the agency did nothing to fix it when they had a chance.
This Foreign Aid Agency Locked Its Doors To Keep DOGE Out. Now We Know Why.

It's crazy how much fraud & corruption happen constantly in our government. We need more DOGE and the Republicans in Congress need to enact the DOGE cuts, but they don't seem to care. Maybe the Moody's credit downgrade will push them to, but I doubt it.
Maybe you should be asking yourself why the world's richest man is so ardently focused on terminating US foreign aid agencies assisting the world's poorest people in getting the critical services, food, water, and medical care they need to survive, while helping them to get to a position to be able to help themselves? What about all the unnecessary suffering and deaths that will result from it? Does he not care? How does that square with Trump's America First mantra?WASHINGTON, March 19, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS) is issuing this statement to address the recent article by Luke Rosiak which resurrects reporting dating back over 12 years.
Rosiak's article contains numerous falsehoods and misleading claims that irresponsibly do not reflect the reality of FMCS's operations or our unwavering commitment to support the US economy with transparency and ethical practices.
The article references elements and reporting that are not only outdated but also fail to acknowledge the substantial reforms FMCS implemented over a decade ago. Since the time of that reporting, FMCS has:
- Completed an Internal Independent Audit: FMCS commissioned an external independent audit to thoroughly review past practices and implemented 100% of the auditor's recommendations, further solidifying and displaying our commitment to transparency and continuous improvement.
- Established a Comprehensive Ethics Program: In response to those issues, FMCS introduced a robust ethics initiative designed to guide our operations with the highest standards of integrity and accountability.
- Enhanced Operational Oversight: Beyond these measures, FMCS has consistently invested in best practices and compliance protocols. Our proactive approach to agency management ensures that any legacy issues are not only addressed but serve as a catalyst for ongoing organizational excellence.
- Maintained a Pristine Record: External independent financial audits have been conducted with zero findings of any irregularities, affirming our commitment to flawless financial stewardship.
No.The current Republican led Congress?
I can't figure out whether hearsay is okay or not. When I bring up hearsay to make arguments, I'm told it's hearsay and can't be trusted. When you bring it up, it's somehow the truth.Money intended for Africans was secretly re-routed to D.C. bureaucrats and their friends by racist, abusive bosses, employees say

Wrong! As usual of course. The FMCS is an independent federal agency and is not a part of any of the 15 Executive departments within the US Government.Congress doesn't operate these quasi agencies. They are under the jurisdiction of the Executive Branch.

The current Republican Congress doesn't give a flying **** about corruption so long if it is their dear leader engaging in it because they're backbone lacking cowards without a moral consciences.No.
The current Congress didn't create USAID.
Such an agency is absolutely under Congressional oversite. They created it, wrote the rules and authority governing it, and funds it. Congress can review its operations, and question its leadership.
But they don't operate it. That is the constitutional responsibility of the Executive Branch.
Wrong! As usual of course. The FMCS is an independent federal agency and is not a part of any of the 15 Executive departments within the US Government.
