I just donated blood yesterday - the first time in 3 years due to COVID 19 - and the young nurse who does the interview and takes your vitals signs asked me, "What was the gender assigned on your birth certificate, and how do you sexually identify?" I burst out laughing. I did not see that one coming. That was never part of questions in the past. Things have sure changed in the last 3 years.

I told her, "I identify as an old walrus who had lost his tusks."
We both had a good chuckle over that.

I happen to BE trans, so I have a personal stake in the matter. You claim it's "triggered by" no most of us on the right are very concerned at the insanity being pushed by activist and the harm to society it is doing. You're either willfully ignorant, or woefully unable to accept that.

Agree, particularly with this passage on the motive behind 'denying' the transgender movement:

I have a theory that they see this movement for accepting transgenderism as a societal madness. Because (in their point of view) if transgenderism is a mental delusion, then accepting this delusion is insane.

The push for trans comes from a good place - people should be accepted. Conservatives likely have no issue with an effeminate man that likes to do feminine things - wear makeup, teach kidnergarten, be attracted to men - all the behavoiral and emotional traits that we associate with being a woman. The man could even feel like a woman.

We're probably looking at a language issue - we simply don't have a word for a man who thinks he's a woman.

Having grown up with LGBTQ+ people I believe the most important thing to remember is that they are not defined by their sexuality any more than straight people are. I know LGBTQ+ who are smart, dumb, conservative, liberal, republicans, Democrats, kind, mean, funny, touchy... in other words, they're just freakin' people like everybody else.

Are sexually active gay men still not allowed to donate blood?

I know that was the case, not sure if it was changed…but that’s one reason I can see for legitimately asking that question.

98% of the time I spend thinking about trans people is caused by conservatives bringing them unnecessarily into conversation.

I actually had a trans intern this summer and (shocker) I spent about as much time thinking about their gender as anyone else's.
