We live in a rural town. I had some errands to do on the other side of the smallish town we live near. On my way back through town, there were about 100-200 people gathered at a busy road junction. There were signs, “Chaos is not Competence!”) upside down US flags and much more. I didn’t have time to look at all of it and keep from running into another car. There was plenty of horn-honking and gestures of support. People took the time to congregate on a beautiful Saturday morning in early May. Anyone else see similar expressions in their neck of the woods?

Yes The 50501 movement is gaining traction and these ad hoc coming together of folks to move the message is gathering steam.

It just hasn’t reached you yet. It will. When you feel it personally, when it hits closer to home, you’ll understand.

If it doesn’t change, if you are in the majority (working or middle class), it will reach you where you feel it personally.

it accomplishes letting Americans know that other Americans are realizing the same things.

it helps Americans realize they are not the only Americans who see the despotic shit

the awareness of other Americans who see things the same way is an important step when the govt is threatening to violate the 1st Amendment
esp when the head of that govt is on record wanting to violate the 2nd Amendment and terminate the Constitution

They support hate speech laws, cheered on government censorship during COVID, and backed the Biden administration as it pressured social media companies to suppress dissenting views. Biden even tried to roll out an orwellian “Disinformation Governance Board” straight out of 1984.

Let’s be honest: if Trump were a leftist, the same people screaming about “authoritarianism” would be applauding every bit of power he’s grabbing.

We were in an intersection in an area of Dallas that is more rural and we saw protesters carrying anti-Trump signs. They were getting lots of honks from people passing by. US citizens getting out there is the only way the insanity can be stopped. Even more important are the town halls with Republicans so they know they will lose their seats in 2026.
