There is rot in America. We have lost our sense of decency. Is Trump just a symptom, or is he a cause?

The rot in America started long before Trump considered running for office. Blame the lunatics on the left.

There is almost 250 years of rot in the federal government. People think Trump is cleaning up Biden's mess, but he is really trying to clean up the mess that created Biden.

We've gone from a spoils sytem to an entrenched unelected bureaucracy in which it's nearly impossible to get rid of the trash.

What cracks me up is these neo-leftists here just love the unelected bureaucracy that makes sure that the lion's share of taxpayer money always makes it to the wealthy class, which the neo-leftists here hate. Do you know how the wealthy class keeps the neo-leftists at bay and supporting the bureaucracy? They spend a few tens of millions on gay and trans programs. Best ROI ever.

He's a symptom. People have lost their ever loving minds, and also love to live in self-imposed ignorance instead of spending the time necessary to be educated and interacting intelligently within our system. It's a Republic if you can keep it, it requires the People to keep it. But that's work, and for some that's too much work. So through ignorance and laziness, con men like Trump can raise up and grab power they never would have been allowed near decades ago.
