Any which way, we've let the government steal too much wealth, make promises they couldn't keep (since when have PONZI Schemes worked?) and now we're in a world of hurt.

I hope you've prepared yourselves.

Translation for Parasite Nation: At some point government won't be there for you... "it" will hit the fan, and all those goodies you were promised, all those rosy scenarios, all the rhetoric about punishing the wealthy... hits those in the teeth who are most vulnerable... those hooked on government.

You can't kill the Geese laying Golden Eggs and expect a bounty of gold. Envy of what others have is a terrible state of mind. It's perverse and comes with real costs. But... that's Socialism's Parasite Nation.

your metaphors and parables are awful. Nobody wants to kill the goose, they want it to share a very few eggs to people that otherwise may not be able to feed their children. Your hyper unregulated invisible hand has already killed entire nation states in sub saharan africa and is way ahead of the game in terms of destruction.

Perhaps the USA just needs a bit of rest from capitalism forced dynamic activity (i.e., one has to reinvent things to eat). Perhaps it is in order for a nation to experience for themselves how other governing styles work and learn from it by experience. All you know by now is what you read from books right. Well, perhaps you should try it, but I'd suggest to not rest too much in it.

Which nation states are those?

Ahhhh, perhaps you forget we are a constitutional republic, which by its nature demands that we not experience "other" forms of government. Of course that is of no consequence to liberals everywhere.

Bush created more socialism than FDR...course, it was all for the rich and corporations as any good fascist would do. Seems to me the right is good to go on socialism for corporations but, in connection with its republican made born again evangelical cult, is against it for the American family and worker.

Good to see a leftist admit publically what leftists constantly deny: that fascism is indeed a form of socialism.

Thief again stealing the ideas of others without due credit. Thief alert.

Hadn't read a word of any of them... but you can spank that monkey all day long if it gives you pleasure.

You're a rookie here I see.
Welcome rookie.

You're writing to... my bet... the top .01% of the most traveled posters in Debatepolitics.
Someone who has opened, consulted and run businesses in foreign Socialist lands. I know their red tape. I know the cost of doing business in these places. I know of the paralysis when it comes to upward mobility. I know how these regimes make it possible for those who know how to work the system to move forward... most cannot afford it.

Know what? It is protection against competition. It's a rigged game. Hate to say it, but government is my best agent against competition.
That's socialism. I know it. I've lived it. I live it.

Socialism fails everywhere it is tried.

Nice try, but... Try again.

Hope you have prepared for when government hits the fan... hopefully a little better than the Greeks because that's the result of Socialism hitting the fan.

I am a "rookie" since I seem not to have more posts than you in this forum. I write to share an opinion and if those "most traveled posters" want to read it let it be.

Who is the one that knows "their red tape?" Whom are you referring to? You or me?

When you say that you live Socialism, where are you from? I know Socialism fails, but I hear this topic come up every so often that it seems the public is curious to try it. If warning them ahead doesn't works, then perhaps they are tired and want to relax a bit in Socialism. That way they will get to see in first person how the system works and perhaps fulfill their curiosity.

Dardania is not Socialist. It is Parliamentary Democracy.

What am I trying?

Blame the poor.

Best damn excuse, since someone screamed "Jooooz!".

So wait, Germany is now socialist? But they have private property and private ownership of industry. Apparently, people and places are only socialist when things are going well.

They have free (affordable) universal healthcare and 20 days paid vaction for ALL JOBS. including Mcdonalds.

To the GOP, they are SOCIALIST! (snicker)

This guy obsessively works the term "parasite nation" into every single post he makes.

I wonder what that's all about. Has a book of the same title been published recently, trying to drum up sales with the catchphrase?

So NOW you finally use the correct definition of Socialism. So exacltly how does this definition apply to Obama? Apparently you only use the correct definition when it suits your argument.

Did I call him a socialist? I have called him a collectivist, a statist and a leftist, but I dont call people socialists too often.
