The flim flam man strikes his own folks again.
In the House of Representatives, markups took place on Tuesday for two of the main parts of the “big beautiful bill” Trump wants Congress to pass as one massive package. The Energy and Commerce Committee’s bill, set to be a key part of that package, is home to the reforms to Medicaid Republicans are eyeing to bring home savings of nearly $1trn over a decade — reforms that include work requirements, state eligibility verification measures, and limits on medical provider taxes at the state level.

An estimate from the Congressional Budget Office last week found that millions would lose Medicaid eligibility under the GOP plan, with many unable to afford plans on the private market.

On the Ways and Means Committee, lawmakers met Tuesday to discuss the tax portion of the legislation. Republicans are hoping to extend as much of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which cut taxes for many Americans but disproportionately benefited households in the top 20 percent of income brackets.

Get it republican voters, you get a pittance while the wealthy are the ones who really benefit from trump's tax cuts, people just like trump benefit.

Always going to be arguments when the budget comes up, the only thing the GOP seems to agree on is figuring out how to screw the poor without losing votes.

Neither side is figuring out how to properly balance this budget. The US needs more income.

I thought that income is the tariffs the left has been crying over. 🤷‍♂️

It is income, though it is hard to tell what it is going to be, the tariffs keep changing.

And the left is pointing out that Trump is lying about Tariffs, not crying. For that matter so is the independents.

We have yet to see the full impact of the tariffs.

There seems to be considerable uneasiness amongst many Republicans on the Medicaid cuts. Red States tend to be hurt the most by this and with the midterms coming up there is a lot of uneasiness. On the other hand there are the deficit hawks who are adamant about reducing the debt. I'll also be watching how this group feels about eliminating the debt ceiling. No doubt something will pass and I fully expect the tax cuts to be made permanent but how much of the other stuff stays in......we'll see.

No, there is some epic crying by the left here everything Trump. Real whining coupled with tantrums.

Well you hate the left so.... that discussion is a waste of time.

The tariffs are temporary. Trump has promised us all these amazing deals. So far, we have nothing of value. Depending on tariff revenue would need a consistent plan from Trump. He shows no sign of consistency. He does show signs that he will cave when the news gets hard for him politically.

The tariffs are temporary
Temporary until 2028, maybe even 2026, or until the courts reverse them. If Trump has his way it will be 10% across the board with some at 25% or 30% as long as he is in the chair.

Interest payment on the debt are already soaring, and the Republicans are planning on exploding the deficit even more at a time in which the economy is growing hand over fist.

Reckless and irresponsible doesn't begin to cover it...
