There is no way to bring medical costs down given the countries current state of late stage capitalism. We don’t train and retain enough doctors, nor educate our population to the extent necessary to eventually produce replacements. Costs will keep rising because they are fueling our consumer economy.

I think we have accepted, for better or for worse - and I think that it is for worse - that Trump need not tell the truth or be held accountable for his exaggerations or false promises. His big beautiful ACA alternative, his total Muslim ban, Mexico paying for the wall, him being “the first,” “the only,” President ., never happened. His supporters don’t care that this never materialized while his opponents roll their eyes in wonder. It was expressed well some time ago that people should take him “seriously, but not literally.” Trump speaks to people’s emotions, resentments and biases. Facts, reality and decency don’t matter. His approach has served him well since his Central Park Five ads.
