The upcoming Black-Latino race war will be intriguing to watch

The rise of Latinos in America---especially in inner cities and Black towns have caused Blacks to grow angry at the Latino surge....I think this will bring a race war in a couple of years.

Blacks hate Latinos and vice versa---I can see the two groups warring over resources, power and stature/social standing in a few years.

This has long been an issue. The Mexicans and the blacks go at it all the time in California prisons.

Blacks in LA really have a beef. The Mexicans ran them out of East LA and other areas that were traditionally black communities.

Whites also go at it all the time in prison in California.

This. It will get worse as Latinos grow in power, Blacks will get antsy. Blacks hate Latinos as much as they hate Whites.
 
Sure, let's cut up this turd sandwich. So why hasn't the race war started already, since this has been happening for decades? I am amused by your generalization about Latinos and black people though. You base this on what, exactly?

So do other gangs. People have all sorts of beefs, yet it doesn't erupt into the kind of race war the OP is assuming. What's at the core of all this is lower income people competing for labor etc., and that's morphed over time and between members of alls sorts of racial and ethnic groups. Race is just the more recent category, while in the past it was ethnicity and religion.

East Los Angeles has not been a traditional Black community but rather had neighborhoods of immigrant communities: Mexican, Japanese, Russian Jews escaping pogroms, and some Italians. My grandparents and great uncle’s family were the first families to build on their street in a new development in Boyle Heights. (Post war freeway construction broke up a number of the older neighborhoods.)

Black migration to Los Angeles greatly increased during WW2 with the availability of employment for the war effort. Many settled in South Los Angeles, formerly white working class, not in East LA.

“At the beginning of the twentieth century, East Los Angeles became a popular immigrant destination. In the early 1900s, Russians, Jews, Japanese, and Mexicans all had a significant presence in the area. Living east of the river and working in nearby factories, or traveling by electric rail into downtown Los Angeles, immigrants and their children helped fuel the prosperity of the growing metropolis. By the onset of World War II, East Los Angeles was a nearly exclusively Latino community, soon reinforced by Mexican workers who arrived to man the machines in the area’s burgeoning war industries.”

Unlike the South, California did not have African slaves within in territory. Being a former colony of Mexico, and settled by Mexicans and mestizos, their population historically had greater representation in the state than Blacks, both before and after the Great Migration from the South.

Can you link us to the sociological or other studies that support your beliefs? Were he alive, imagine how confused Roberto Clemente would be.
 
Reminds me in Virginia, the Asians opened up an Asian cultural center. The African Americans were up in arms because they didn’t get one too. Turns out, they financed most of it themselves and did the work to get it opened. Seems the African Americans wanted someone else to do it for them.
