August 6th, 2024 Volodomyr Zelensky launched what, for want of a better term, we can call Operation Baby Citadel. The intent is not to belittle the Ukrainian Duce at all. Papa Citadelle took place in same Kursk, decades back, from July 5th 1943 - August 23rd 1943, and probably dwarfed any other battle known to mankind till then, or since. Papa Citadelle pitted some 800,000 men on the Duce's side and close to 2,000,000 men on Stalin's side. Also saw action in Papa Citadelle names that have since entered the Warrior Hall of Fame: on the Duce side von Manstein, von Kluge, Walter Model; on the Stalin side Zhukhov, Rokossovsky, Vatutin, Ivan Konev. An epic battle.
Zelensky would very much have loved to eclipse Operation Citadelle; but that would have demanded that at the very least he is President of the United States of America. Fate decided otherwise for the Duce. He is a very very important Duce, but of a very very very unimportant country. What that means is he could not eclipse 1943 Citadelle. Because of that his will have to be called Operation Baby Citadelle.
Today the Duce took time off his busy schedule to celebrate his Kursk Offensive of last year. It must have been a very successful Offensive given that the Duce took to the air on its anniversary to celebrate it. Maybe the Duce's Parliament- the Verkhovna Rada- will make August 6th a Holiday.
So what were the achievements of Operation Baby Citadelle? Will Zelensky keep Kursk, or exchange it for Donbass? Another option is for Zelensky to force Putin to the negotiating table by moving beyond Kursk Oblast into Oblasts bordering Kursk. There are many choices: Bryansk, Belgorod, Oryol etc

Today marks the anniversary of the Kursk Operation – a truly Ukrainian historic operation. At a time when many spoke that the situation had reached a stalemate, and were losing faith in Ukraine, we proved that Ukrainians know how to act right. And we proved that many of Russia’s threats were just bluffs.I am grateful to all our warriors – every soldier, sergeant, and officer – to all the men and women who took part in the Kursk operation.
