The Ugly Truth: Defeating ISIS Will Take Decades

There is no obligation at all. We'll just let this meaningless claim of yours speak for itself.

You're losing me here Grant. Are you suggesting that wars brought under fraud are good?

So you have a government that needs equipment from manufacturers who are in the business of making profits. Are you suggesting we move to a different system?

If you scrape the thin layer of tin off of those that make such claims, they generally object to anybody making a profit.

Well, anybody other then themselves that is. And you can ask them until you are blue in the face, none can ever come up with a solution that does not sound like it came out of a 2 year old.

"Well, then don't go to war or get into fights".

It really is a typical 2 year old argument, and is all about themselves.

And yea, he sounds silly complaining that it is an industry designed to win wars. Who designs equipment to loose wars?

And they fail to understand is that business profit is the source of our country's wealth. They live in a wealthy country thanks to business profits.

Well, we can always try following the old Soviet model.

Build the equipment as cheap as possible, but in numbers that can overwhelm by quantity, not quality.

The last time I can think of when we did that was WWII, with the Sherman Tank. They were known as "Ronsons" because when hit they burst into flames, and had poor armor protection. Over 4,500 were lost in Europe. They were only effective because we built almost 50,000 of the things.

There have always been terrorists. There will always be terrorists. Who they are and what they claim to be motivated will change, but there will always be terrorists.

And there will always be rain, but some days are wetter than others.

True, and some of them wear Brooks Brothers suits to work.

Is this a plug for Brooks Brothers?

I ask that because terrorists don't seem to have spent much time fretting with their tailors.

That one sailed right over your head. ;)

Isis is quickly losing ground in Libya, has very little ground in Afghanistan, and is slowly waning to the Iraqi government and kurds. Isis is strongest in syria but is slowly losing it to Assad and the kurds

German bombing of Britain was small potatoes compared to the later Allied air offensive against the Reich. Apart from that I agree with much of your post. The way to foster your solution is to put our fighters on the ground with the local population.

Aside from them being terrorists, I don't think the KKK can be compared to ISIS. We defeated a pretty formidable military (Iraq) in short order but can't handle ISIS? I think the current Commander in Chief himself called them the "JV squad".
