Plus, I'm a historian of American foreign policy. Hard to work on that while ignoring the stink of what the last four years is going to produce for those who have to face it.

I mean, aside from diplomats and policy experts on high, we have the Active military that has to work under a much weakened America in the Middle East.

- Iran is angered, ramped up its aggressive foreign policy in the region, and enriching again.
- Iran holds tremendous influence from the western border of Afghanistan to the border of Israel.
- We lost our greatest military ally: the Kurds.
- We have celebrated Turkey's (A NATO member) relationship with Russia.
- Russia has been given great influence in the region through Syria and Turkey.

All of this and more since Trump sleazed into the White House on behalf of the more stupid in America.

One of the indications that a person suffers from GroupThink is the Illusion of unanimity among group members.

Here, and like so many others, you validate your position by pretending that Trump's years of scandals did not earn scorn and criticism from throughout the political spectrum.

- During the Primaries in 2016, Republican leaders begged conservatives not to vote for Trump.

- By 2020, Republican organizations were actively endorsing Biden.

- Along the way, the Active military went from abiding Trump in 2016 to the majority disapproving of him in 2020.

- And today, Republican leaders are again back to shoving Trump where trash belongs.

Clearly, your position that Trump was hated only by "liberals" is just a coping mechanism that caters to GroupThink. "Us versus them" legitimizes an ignorant viewpoint; and it relies heavily on the idea that any narration and even falsehood means truth if more believe. Ask the religious why they proselytize.

I really should sum up GroupThink in one of these posts to show just how hopeless it ever was for Trump Nation to wake up before January 6.
