The true meaning of “chosen people”

In his continuing series Earth, director God always chooses some Jews to play significant parts, be it an Einstein or a Weinstein.

I thought you were going to say the "chosen " people were the ones chosen by natural selection to be gullible enough to believe mythological entities exist in the physical World.

He certainly chose well in the leadership of Israel and their goal to eliminate Arabs.

Who knew god would give them high powered missiles to mass slaughter women and children and not get their "chose" hands dirty.

Judaism is the most racist movement in the universe.

That does raise the question of why early humans who believed in mystical forces in the world were not replaced by those who engaged in more rational behavior that presumably would help them survive better. Perhaps shamans, through their dreams and visions, did convey information that helped their tribes survive and thrive.

When I said, "Einstein or a Weinstein," I thought I was making it clear that Jews could be both heroes and villains. Yes, God directs violent stories. So does Quentin Tarantino.

Correct. I should have said, "I never claimed God was good" and perhaps that whether or not God is good is not a factor in whether he or she exists.

Sure.
Folks can and do come up with the wildest notions in dreams and "visions". But, at the end of the day, all religions are fairy tales.
And nasty ones at that.
Once one accepts that all religions are a catalyst for division and hate, one can start to mend.
But, as we've seen time and time again, its hard to outgrow ones fairy tales.

Yes, shamans saw the sanctity of earth and this recognition was crucial to survival…..we think we know something and then we read _The Power of Myth_ by Joseph Campbell….

It's just superstitious old fools and control freaks who buy 'god' anymore.

I'll say this. If there IS a god? He is ONE ****ING LOUSY designer.


The body is 'designed' to last us 150 years.

The organ hat controls blood sugar is designed to last 75 years.

That's why type 2 diabetes is rampant across the world.

I am glad this "god" doesn't design cars. They would all be Corvairs
 
To me it is obvious Serbs are God’s chosen people. If you read Stevan Tomovich’s work, you will realize Serbs are the people of the Bible. Moses, Abraham, Jesus, and Muhammad were all Serbs.
