I have been watching the Prime time debate tonight.

I am not typically a big fan of FOX News but...
The questions put forth tonight were terrific. FOX News has done a great job on this debate, putting candidates feet to the fire and allowing them to respond.

The candidates, up till now, have done themselves proud.

The ones that have not excelled to me have been Rubio - though he had a moment, Walker, Carson or Jindal.

Perry and Huckabee have done well with their opportunities - but those opportunities have been far apart.

Rand Paul has tried hard but has not made the mark he was hoping to.

Kasich did very well. I knew him the least and I was impressed.

Buch, Trump, Christie have done the best - so far.

The GOD question at the end was dumb - and as expected - the candidates looked dumb answering.

Overall though - It was a well presented debate and you have to commend FOX. Keeping a debate with 10 candidates flowing is a difficult task and they passed with flying colors.

Any other thoughts?

I thought Rubio did very well, and Carson had a strong showing in what limited time he had. I still wouldn't vote for Carson in the primary, but you can't deny he has charisma. Cruz fell flat, and I thought Trump got absolutely destroyed, although with that sharp line of questioning it would be surprising if he didn't. Then again, before the debate I had a positive opinion of Rubio and a negative one of Cruz and Trump, so perhaps my biases played in here.

I think Bush and Walker also probably gained by virtue of staying out of controversy while Trump fell as they're the most likely to be the take over the top spot ultimately.

I thought the moderation was excellent. I think it was yesterday that WaPo ran a piece on Chris Wallace in which Wallace referred to the "murder board," the questions each moderator came up with and which were vetted by the others. I think the thought and effort they put into the questions (except, perhaps, the God question) showed.

It is funny, I was not impressed with Carson, he just seemed out of his depth. Listening to republican supporters though, it seems Carson impressed many. I thought Trump did very well, listening to Republican supporters though - he did himself damage.

I watched with no preconceptions of any of these candidates. My impressions are my impressions. None of these candidates have anything to worry from me - I am not American.

I do find it interesting hearing the comments and impressions of those more involved and possibly affected.

Kasich did very well too. I've stated publicly that I have no interest in a Jeb or Cruz candidacy, but I am slightly more interested in both post-debate.

Rubio probably won this debate. We'll need to wait and see what the news media and commentators say tomorrow about it.

Because of the religious fringe element Fox had to have a God question in there somewhere.

It caught everybody by surprise however.

Nobody had a good answer for it, who was asked.

And luckily for Jeb they did not find out he was a convert Catholic.

First off, this was not a DEBATE. People should stop calling it that. It was a group interview. A real debate would have had all candidates address the same issue and would have provided an opportunity for rebuttal or follow-up. Not all candidates were asked the same question. Some questions were poignant and piecing; others were softballs that could readily be answered with gobbly-gook (meaningless phases) as many were.

This was not a debate nor was it particularly substantive. The ridiculous analysis of it reminds me of people that take preseason football seriously. Correspondingly, "winning" this "debate" is also akin to winning a preseason football game.

My biggest take-away: no one took on Trump. These people want to tell us how tough they will be with Iran, but lack the balls to deal with Trump. Yeah, they 're tough (not).

I can't wait to see Fiorina in the next debate. She will smoke Trump in my opinion. I'm very intrigued by her so far. I would still vote for Rand if the election were tomorrow but I'd love to see her as someone's VP pick if she's not the nominee.

I disagree. Fox had 24 million chances to introduce the Republican candidates to the nation and instead they chose to create a dramarama and create talking points for the left. The moderators did 30% of the talking, and do you know anything more about the candidates than you did before the debate???????????? Why werent they given more time? The left would NEVER attack their candidates (in fact they go out of their way to protect them: see Candy Crowley) as Fox did. At least I have seen people change their view about Fox...they arent as biased as their reputation.

That said, I think Fox gained a lot more from this than the candidates did...which is unfortunate but everyone is self serving...

I was most impressed with Cruz and Carson, and believe Cruz should get the nomination with Carson (or Fiorina) as VP.

I would like to argue with you but your points are valid.

I am not a big fan of Cruz but should he win the nomination it will be deserved
for God's sake though - do not pick Carson, I have tried to see something valuable for the Country in him - I just am not seeing it - he is a snore. I have heard sound-bites - but no real ideas

Carson has a pretty good tax plan and he wants to get rid of Obamacare, so there you go.
