I have little doubt that the assertion is correct. In a series of decisions they have been moving toward one-party rule by the GOP, elimination of minority rights entirely, and gutting of the equal protection guarantee of the 14th Amendment. We're in the midst of the final maneuvers.

You're right in a way. Whatever room to bitch either of the two major sides might have had, is narrowing quickly. It's amusing. I kinda view it like professional wrasslin'. The politicians perform as faces or heels, and the partisans cheer for more blood.

Whether a particular performer is a face or a heel can change at the whim of the show runners. Also, their status as face or heel is very often a matter of perspective anyway, in the environment of anti-heroes.

As I said in the other thread, the ONLY solution for this is to end single member first past the post districts and adopt party list proportional representation.

Trouble is, even if a benevolent AI or a benevolent human draws districts, there will be unfairness and distortion, simply because partisan populations are not evenly distributed.

Ideally, your would have 435 evenly split swing districts, but that is impossible to achieve.

And most people will live in a district with the winner already predetermined.

Single member first past the post districts are undemocratic on their face and it is beyond time to eliminate them.
