We need to stop this cause we are are going to get another mod warning on tangents, this not being A2K.
Catch you in an immigration thread?
PM if interested.
Seriously.
MKay?
Oops, my bad.
I did not look at the title of the thread...just at your comment.
I just heard a doctor on MSNBC say the last one was developed two years ago but, that the antibiotic of last resort was developed in the 1950.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colistin
I would further qualify that by saying that cancers can kill in mere months from the time of diagnosis. The truth is though that, by the time of diagnosis in those cases, the body has been producing malignant cells for years. Cancer should be more concerning to everyone than the hypothetical bacteria that can't be treated by any existing antibiotics.
Hypothetical bacteria?
Yes, hypothetical. The article says that this bacteria is treatable with other antibiotics.
Such arrogance.
Herbal medicine can cure superbugs. It has been for over a decade, starting with MRSA.
Modern medicine's era is coming to an end, in its current form. It needs to either start incorporating other systems or people will stop using it.
Nature will force it to do so, as usual.
I thought one of the points of this discussion is that super-bugs are becoming resistant to super-drugs. Are you saying that increased resistance is hypothetical? I'm asking because even in veterinary medicine there are some infections that have to be treated now with three cycles of antibiotics.
What are your solutions? Let me guess... something something ban immigrants.Come on, you did not confidently assert your position on the matter in your zika thread. Then you got exposed for lying at all costs in another thread about my position on the zika virus. Let's see if you can come out of your shell here.
By the way, the Teutoburg Monument?
It's not as subtle as you think it is.
325,000,000 people Hatuey.
And growing.
Illness and disease are not the only reason why we need to start capping our population. I could probably list a dozen.
We'll be looking back in hindsight one day asking ourselves why we didn't do something about overpopulation while we still had the chance.
This isn't about race, I personally don't give a flying f where the people are coming from. If they were coming from the Teutoberg Forest and bringing illness, death and crime, I'd say ban them too! Wake up.
So yes, something something ban immigrants. Yes? Come out and say it. Quit hiding, it's pretty obvious.
Which herbal meds? I'd like to see some documentation of this.
Nature will thin out overcrowding. A little virus or bacteria can cut the population in half. It is clear we will never learn from our mistakes so nature will have to fix things as usual. Between the incompetence of our government and the arrogance of the know it all it will happen sooner than later.
If a disease takes out half of the human population, it sure won't be the top half (from a wealth standpoint). Even if it gets so bad, and the treatment of said disease is so expensive that only the 1% can afford it...that would be an interesting world to observe. Someone has to work in mines gathering resources, someone has to grow all the food...it doesn't matter how big your pile of money is when there's nobody to throw it at to get what you want/need
It's true that the wealthy can better afford medical treatment, but disease doesn't necessarily discriminate.
True that, a bacterial colony doesn't really use your W-2 to decide whether or not to mess with you
