So the right of right-wing grifters to spread nonsense online is more important than societal progress because some piece of paper written by 17th-century slave-owners who didn't want women to vote would want it that way. Got it.

This is how progressives feel about this country and its constitution. They don't always express it this openly, but this really is their core narrative.

AA speaks for progressives about as much as the wackiest slightly conservative member here speaks for you.

What's the context of that quote? Is it a free speech online argument? I realize the wording is harsh, which I imagine is what you are getting at, but it's factually true.

You couldn't post this where the "quote" actually occurred?

Lame thread starter.

The person quoted was suggesting that things said online should be monitored and controlled more by the government for the good of society.

Oh okay, I thought the OP was mad about the founding father comments. Yea, government control of the internet is really bad. The only other person I've seen recommend that on here was on the hard right.

Conservatives do speak for each other. Take note of how many conservatives use phrases like "we all know". For a party of independent thinkers they sure like to pretend they do speak for others.

That is what the mods already dood...

The owner of a private platform controlling dialogue on that platform is a lot different than the government dictating what can be said on the whole of the internet.

I don't know where you came up with that but I can assure you, if it's a real quote, it represents a near zero number of AmeriCAN's of any stripe.

"I'M" considered a "progressive", I would guess, and IM (not so) HO OUR Constitution is THE GREATEST document EVER written by Man for Mankind. <-PERiOD

Censorship is censorship no matter where it comes from.

I know where the original post was made, but thanks I guess.

Why didn't the OP just address the quote in that thread instead of grabbing someone's quote, not bother to give the context or source, to start a new thread? Some places might consider that a "call out".

Maybe he just sucks at formatting his threads.

You don't see a difference between the government censoring the entire internet and mods on this one website policing conversations as they see fit?

The person quoted... did they finish their post with a... Sieg Heil!!! ?

Or did they finish it with the party anthem?

Obviously someone who doesn’t want their opposition enjoying free speech.

Und vee no vy.

Apparently, this is how conservatives (even "slight" ones) see this country's history:

Nothing like pretending this country has never sullied itself for making it easier to ignore injustice and corruption staring us right in the face. I guess they simply must live in a dreamworld.

They also control all banks of rivers, lakes and oceans along with the water that is contained in the banks. The also claim ownership of anything you discard like piss and when you exhale which is how breathalyzers and urine test can be obtained and tested legally..And yes they control the internet, net neutrality was taken away by the GOP, enjoy.
The govt spies on us because the GOP and the DNC members allowed it yet for some reason people sit and bicker over which party is best and who's candidate is the best. To me it's all bull**** to accolade the very ****ers who abuse our rights...

You have completely got the parties confused. It's Republicans who've strongly advocated for spreading covid19 faster and further (intentionally in the case of Dan Patrick of TX and his goon followers) or just out of sheer incompetence and failure that Donnie Dirtbag has demonstrated. You people.

And maybe you forgot that these were Dirtbag's (and yours as well apparently) idea of very fine people:

They believe The Constitution is living... and breathing. The founding documents... meaningless.

They don’t want to have to change the laws by going through the process of Congress ... through elected officials... they want the courts to be their legislative branch.

America wasn’t perfect when founded, but the guiding documents were pretty ****ing close.

Remember, it was Democrats who fought against the women’s vote for eons... and voted ceaselessly to keep the Blacks down... sent Chinese Americans to internment camps... were the party of the KKK and Jim Crow.

It seems the Goebbels Media has a stranglehold on your mind.

That’s OK... there’s help on the way:

Tell me... what is it about free speech you Leftists so despise?

I always find these, "This is how the Other Guys Think" threads to be very informative, it shows how little people really know how the other Guys think.
That applies to when either side attempts it.
