This is absurd on its face. Sounds exactly like what the "experts said about taking out Saddam's Army.
. In 2017, Trump cleared out the caliphate in 2 weeks.
. I'm not going to speculate how they would do it, but Trump will find the best generals (as he did in Iraq by going there an speaking to then generals on the ground, and ignoring the office generals in DC), and have them create plans of action that ensure victory.

Donald Trump and his newly-appointed border czar intend to send Special Forces soldiers to eliminate Mexican drug cartels but defence experts are warning they could be outmatched.

Conservative brain: “You know what will stop the cartels? Killing cartel bosses.”

Reality: Cartel bosses actively try to kill each other all the time and it does nothing to stop the cartels.

If you want to stop drug cartels, you have to end the black market they are fighting over the profits of.

You'd have to be allowed into Mexico first for a start.
You can't just fly a bunch of military helicopters into another country and expect them to be fine with that.

Too be fair, Mexico doesn’t really have the ability to stop the US if they wanted to do just that. Their Air Force is minuscule, the most modern fighter dates to the Vietnam era, and they have no air defense to speak of.

However, I would bet that would quickly change when Mexico reaches out to China for military assistance and protection.

What did they say exactly?

The conflict started on October and ended in July, little bit more than 2 weeks.

Not going to speculate? Isn't that what these debate threads are for?

IMO, whoever thinks that Special Ops can't deal with the cartels is probably working for the cartels.

Be kind of like Russia and Ukraine just from a different perspective.

You think the Mexican government is going to say no? They could. What do you think would be in their best interest? Having terror organizations roaming their country (as that is what they will soon be designated as)?

That wouldn't be wise economically for them.
. I don't see a situation where Mexico is going to deny US assistance, but you never know. People make stupid decisions all the time.

Classify them as terrorist, which they are, then Obama drone the crap out of them.

Mexico?

LMAO. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

They will do what we tell them to do.

And then what?

You send in Special Ops and kill some of the cartel leaders.

What comes next?

Maybe Russia can invade Mexico next.

Funerals?
Yeah…bunch of dead cartel folks, funerals.

Going to be losses on our side also, funerals.

And what? Some people are dead.

What did it solve?

It cost lives, it cost money…maybe even some dead civilians also who had nothing to do with it.

And what does it solve? What’s the end result?

Amerikan arrogance doesn't need permission.

They could crash the US economy in a week. And there is thing one Trump could do about it. Special Forces can't force economic trade. When all of those farmers, and corporations immediately start losing billions overnight, and the stock market immediately crashes. MAGA will realize really fast just how shockingly ignorant they truly are. And yes, Mexico would reach out to our enemies for support, and any cooperation we once had in stopping cartel activity from coming across the border is gone.

Bottom line. Trump isn't going to win.

We hope the end result is less Fentanyl deaths in America and less dead Mexican citizens over there.

Amerikan Arrogance.

I said, I don't know what their plans are. But, I would put my trust in the generals that get selected to create and execute the mission.
. Trump is sickened by what these cartels have done. Fentanyl killing more people annually than died in all of the Vietnam War.
. I've heard there's going to be a media blitz on the horrors of fentanyl, and there is going to be action.
