Actually, a whole lot of people through various investment vehicles seem to be in on Musk's buy of Twitter. Just a week or so back a Federal Judge unsealed shareholders involved with X Holdings Corp., the entity that became the buyer on paper.

Sean “Diddy” Combs, a whole lot of typical Silicon Valley and New York venture capitalists, several in Saudi Arabia including a few in the family of Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, as well as the infamous 8VC linked to Russian oligarchs Petr Olegovich Aven and Vadim Moshkovich.

Russians are involved so it should surprise no one that Putin at least knows about it, directly... probably not because Putin would not have to in order to still have influence.

The truth of the matter is Musk did not buy all of Twitter entirely on his own, various entities and loans were involved which opens the door to all the things you would expect of venture capital groups around the globe. Namely eventually wanting their money back with interest plus influence into the decision making along the way.
