The Official Minnesota Senate Recount Thread

I just don't get it though, if he is really Conservative, there has been so much more Liberal Democrat stupidity to go after; but with Dan, it's Republican bashing day in and day out.

Hell, there's a hell of a lot more going on with Democrat demagoguery. fear mongering and shenannigans than anything Bush has done.

Nah, Dan realizes, as do the rest of the people that has half a brain cell that Bush has caused more damage to this country that any Dem, ever.

Putting the blame where it belongs isn’t demagoguery, its fact. Putting a bunch of pixels on the screen can’t blow facts away they just hang there.

Random though, and not saying it IS why Dana does it but could be.

Ever hear of getting your own house clean before trying to clean another?

Yeah, there are a lot of dem issues. A ton of dem issues. And just about 90% i'd say of the conservatives on this site spend their time complaining non stop about those. And probably 75% of that 90% barely say a thing about their own party save for a passing comment.

So sometimes, when you look at that, and then you look at your own party and realize they're doing a LOT of things you're unhappy about, you're left with a choice. Join your voice in the standard chorus of "Dems are bad, dems are bad, dems are bad" while continuing to be yet another Republican that says "My party's not that good either, but I'll let them continue to be crap cause Dem's are bad".

OR

Decide that all the other conservatives have the "Bash the dems" routine down pretty well, and you're going to try to fix the issues at home. You're going to try to solve some things within.

Because defeating the democrats means jack **** if all it does is put very ****ty republicans into power. Then all you've accomplished is to put bad guys into power that you're supposedly actually SUPPORTING instead of opposing. Suddenly the guys you're telling people are who they should really look to for leadership are just about as bad.

Its kind of like telling a guy he needs to stop being best friends with a scum bag that beats and yells at his wife, while you yourself are best friends with someone that yells at his wife.

Is it as bad as yelling AND beating? No, but its still bad and kind of weakens your point.

I disagree with Dana on a lot of things, and I do call him out at times about how he focuses on republicans with this and takes a certain glee about it that doesn't seem to be there with the democrats. But I can also understand being so upset with your OWN group, that you focus your ire trying to fix them first.

Because for some people, its not just about fighting the bad guy. Its about promoting the good guys. And if the good guys aren't really good, what's the use in that?

You pretty much got into my head with that post. It seems you DO undertand where I am coming from. Yea, I feel that the Republican party betrayed me. Calling out the Dems is no good unless the Republican party is cleaned up. Otherwise, you have donkeys versus donkeys in elephant suits. If I am throwing the baby out with the bathwater by attacking Republicans so harshly, it is because the party needs a new baby.

Thank you for putting this so eloquently. It is one thing to personally attack people you don't know, and have no idea who they are, and call them fake Conservatives. It is quite another to put yourself in their shoes. You have done well with my shoes.

Moderator's Warning:
Cease this kind of behavior Immedietely Dana. The rules are very explicite about flaming and no where in them does it say that flaming against oneself is somehow a way to get around it. If I ever catch you in a thread calling yourself a name again I will have to step in and defend you by infracting you for the insult you gave upon yourself.
Tell you what, I'll call him a name for his own protection.

Apparently it takes people with less than half a brain cell to believe that Bush did all this to us.
