I have no idea why they picked now for this list but a bunch of very good authors contributed their picks. I've read more than a few.

Should be no pay wall.

I like this part: Authors give you their top ten lists. It's interesting that there's not a lot of agreement.

The NYT can never be trusted with book lists. If you want to know what the best works are this century then the best place to start are those which have won prestigious literary awards.
