Authoritarian leaders can be really naive that Trump seems to believe Putin is his "friend". Just like Putin believed his yes men when they told him it would be easy to take the whole of Ukraine.

That Trump don't understand that Putin only care about himself. That Ukraine joining EU and NATO didn't pose any threats to Russia. That a economically successful and stable Ukraine only pose a threat to Putin himself. Because there are a lot of connections between Ukrainians and Russians, so a successful Ukraine would lead to more Russians question there own failed and corrupt regime.

Also Trump can't see what massive failure Putin is. That after sacrificing hundred of thousands of Russians have he not even taking the entire Donbas.

Also that European countries have gone from trading with Russia to build out their military to counter Russia. While Finland and Sweden have gone from neutral to staunce NATO countries. Because of Putin's war.

Just another reminder that Putin does not want peace unless it means he can get Ukraine's eastern land. Then it will just be temporary peace as he rebuilds his military to invade the rest of Ukraine.

Hey Dufus Donny, did you know Finland joined NATO and they have a longer border with Russia than Ukraine?

Odd that Russia did zero to prevent Finland from joining NATO in 2023.
