The Movie Idiocracy was a box office bomb. When it was released, nobody really went to see it. In Video Streaming it didn't do much better. What is interesting is how much it seems to be a blueprint for MAGA.
In the Movie everyone works for and uses Brondo, the Energy Drink company. You get it everywhere. They even try to grow crops with energy drink, claiming that Brondo is what Plant's crave. You see, it has electrolytes. The Plants really don't like Brondo. But that result doesn't stop them from spraying it on the fields. Fields which are not growing, because plants don't need electrolytes. Brondo sued the FDA and FTC and won, so companies could make any claim they wanted without penalty.
Welcome folks, to Idiocracy. Our Brondo is actually Xylitol. The Company suing the FTC and FDA is Xlear.

The Argument from Xlear is that it should not be required that the people selling the product have to prove its health benefits with studies and testing. The FDA and FTC should have to conduct those studies to prove the claims are not true.
For a very long time, the person telling the lie was responsible for proving it true. The ideals of Truth in Advertising are apparently just not profitable. Just think how great it will be. Cigarettes marketed to children Commercials telling everyone how Cigarettes are good for blood pressure and sooth the heart. Booze makes you a better driver. It relaxes you and makes you less aggressive in rush hour.
Oh the joy is right there on the horizon gang. You can see it. Xylitol is great, it cures everything. And you know it is totally modern, it has an X in it. How much more modern can you get?

The FTC requires products to prove health claims. A lawsuit could end that protection.
The agency has traditionally been successful in taking action against marketers that promote bogus medical products.
