The United States has corruption as the basic framework of our system of government. We are probably the most corrupt nation in the West.

why so?

I guess we prefer it that way. We are a democratic republic. We could eliminate corruption from the system if we chose to do so. Although it would be exceedingly difficult and require draconian political action such as expanding the Supreme Court. Hell, I can think of three decisions off the top of my head that would have to be overturned (Citizens United, McDonnell, Snyder). There are probably a lot more.

Corruption is the life blood of our politics.

Idiocy posing as intellectual (not saying this as an insult, but to your post)
There never has been, nor will their ever be a form of governance that is not corrupt, with increasing corruption as it grows and matures.
In the words of Friedman... "how is it true that political self interest is more noble than economic self interest?"
Self hating leftist always bash America first, while sitting around getting paid 6 figures, and working maybe 10 hours a week only made possible by the economy of which they profess to hate.

and in Europe?

Italy, Greece, Albania …. or which?

That was a weird response. You rebut my assertion with agreement sandwiched between insults.

Not really.
People who think "America is the most corrupt" - get this idea in two ways:
1) By buying into and regurgitating liberal based writings and opinions.
2) Somehow thinking that political self interest is not as corrupt as economic self interest.

At least with economic self interest - everyday people benefit.
America is wholly corrupt, of that, there is no doubt and no argument.
But it is not more corrupt than any other large nation, just corrupted differently, and at a very large scale.
But at least in America, the average Joe and Jane benefits from it.
Capitalism will always evolve to become corrupt. But capitalism still benefits the populace better than the political self interest of commissars.

This is nonsensical right-wing bullshit.

More nonsensical prattle.

Not always, but sometimes it does.

Yes, I do.

You just do not agree with me. This is okay. Consensus is not required in this case.
That is all you did with me... that is not Cold Hard Truth.
"Cold Hard Truth" is not - "you are wrong: and walk away.
Cold hard truth would be "I think you are wrong, and here is what is true and why"

"You are conservative - so wrong!" - is rhetoric.

The simple truth is that liberals are more honest than most conservatives. We do not spew Russian propaganda, we do not consistently lie about an election being stolen while knowing full well it was not, and we do not support a known traitor who tried to overthrow the government because he didn't like losing an election to Joe Biden.

Conservatives want a theocracy based on Christianity. That is not acceptable. This country was founded on freedom of belief and a guarantee that the state would not be allowed a religion.

When the right divorces itself from Trump, when it stops watching Faux news, Newsmax, and the other reich-wing propaganda outlets, and it is willing to live by the constitution, then, and only then, will it have any right to talk about what the other side does.
