One of the candidates for the Republican Party nomination in CA posts that that his "0% unemployment plan" is Auschwitz.

Response from the California GOP: *crickets*

No expulsion from the party. No denunciation. Not even a single mention on their social media.

The GOP is okay with Nazis in the party. That's all you need to know about them.

I don't think you've proven that, but of course the democrats are ok with communists.

Sure does look like neonazi antisemitism is popular among California Republicans:

The Auschwitz Memorial Museum slammed Kyle Langford, Republican candidate for Governor of California, after his antisemitic remarks, calling out his actions as a “profound moral failure.”

“The instrumentalization of the tragedy of all those imprisoned and murdered in the German Nazi concentration and extermination camp Auschwitz for political messaging is a profound moral failure,” said the official Auschwitz Memorial Museum....

Langford, who is currently the leading Republican candidate in California, published a photo of himself at the entrance of Auschwitz with a text that said: “My 0% unemployment plan.”

He also doubled down after being called out by the memorial museum, posting a message that said his “German ancestors smile upon him” and thanked the organization for a “shoutout.”...

Going out on a limb here: This guy seems to be very stupid.

Why is anyone surprised by this.

This is a GOP norm. Be as disgusting as possible knowing there will be ZERO backlash from the base.

Agreed. But do you think communists are as bad as Nazis?

Communist regimes killed more people than the nazis. Of course the holocaust horrifies us, but Stalin's famines and purges, Mao's great leap backward, cultural revolution, and pol pot's genocide in Cambodia all involved mass death, forced labor, and totalitarian terror - often targeting their own people. Communist governments killed at least 5x more than the nazis did, from starvation, gulags, executions, and forced collectivization.

The nazis were racist murderers and the communists were classist murderers. The nazis targeted Jews, roma, and others based on race, while communists targeted the "bourgeoisie," landowners, intellectuals, and even workers who disagreed with them. Both collectivist ideologies dehumanized entire categories of people and justified their extermination in the name of a utopian goal.

Both demanded total control over the individual. Under both kinds of governments, the state was god. There was no free press, no political dissent, no civil liberties. The nazis had the gestapo; the soviets had the nkdv. Same boot, different logo.

Man, if only you could find even an ounce of energy to be upset about the people who die under capitalism literally every single year. But those people don’t matter unless their deaths can be are profitable somehow.

How many Democratic politicians are communists, as in full supporters of Stalinism or Maoism, the way this Republican is a full supporter of Nazism?

@aociswundumho thinks they are worse because private property and capitalism are the only things he believes in. Human suffering and genocide are okay if they maximize profits.

You forgot the market.

I believe in all three because they're the only things that work. Let's take them one at a time.

1) Private property is the foundation of civilization - it gives individuals a reason to work, to save, to build, and to innovate.

2) Capitalism. It's ridiculous to have to defend capitalism when capitalism produced 99.9% of the goods owned by virtually every person reading this. That's including the house you live in. And the chair you're sitting in.

3) The market. The alternative to the market is central planning, which has a track record of failure longer than a soviet bread line.

The leftist alternative to the above is the state owns everything, the state produces everything, and the state decides who gets what.

Private property didn’t exist as a concept until the Enlightenment. Civilization predates private property by several thousand years.

Workers produced all of those things. Workers could do it without the private ownership of capital.

Market socialism is a thing. I am a market socialist, specifically leaning towards Mutualism. Markets also predate capitalism.

Who’s a communist? Indulge us.

They will say AOC or Bernie or Mamdani are “communists”, and that the social democracy/democratic socialism they support is “communism”, but when we point to social democracies as examples of successful communism they will get butthurt and say “that’s capitalism!”
