Libertarian Candidate Chase Oliver received only 0.42% of the vote nationwide. He even received less votes than RFK Jr. nationwide. RFK Jr. received about 0.5% of the vote nationwide, despite the fact that he dropped out and wasn't on the ballot in five of the seven swing states. In Arizona, Oliver received 0.53% of the vote. In 2020, the Libertarian Candidate received 1.18% of the vote nationwide. Back in 2016, the Libertarian Candidate received 3.27% of the vote nationwide. There are less Libertarians now within the country.

That could be part of it. But with Trump having won both the EC and the popular vote, there seems to be a lot more voters within this country that want authoritarianism.

TDS has gottten so bad nothing can be discussed without him being blamed for it,,

Chase Oliver wasn't a bad choice overall, would have been better than Harris and leagues better than Trump. But it's hard for third parties to compete and Chase didn't have a lot of name recognition. Some LP votes may have stupidly been pulled to Trump, not sure why any libertarian worth their salt would vote for that commie ass bastard, but it's possible.

I was one.
Looking at how elections are done today, I would make some changes that might bring more people to vote.
All not in person voting should be completed, counted, and made public at the start of election day, and no ballots cast or found after the end of election day should be counted. I've known many people in the past who didn't bother to vote as they believed they knew their candidate would win without need of them to vote. Looking at the 2 House races in California, makes me wonder about the votes now being counted 3 weeks after the election.
Ideally, our government should be based more on governing issues, that have the support of a majority of the people, but for that to happen we would have to begin discussing such issues.

It's just as possible some were swayed by the incessant(ly wrong) chants that anything but a vote for Harris was a vote for Trump, despite the painfully obvious fact that any vote for anyone other than Trump was a vote against Trump.

I saw that claim made here.
